... complement the rich meal. Because our day started so early, we returned to the hotel close to 3:00pm, and had the afternoon and evening free to rest and tour the city on our own. With all the food and wine we have been drinking, we decided to have only gelato for dinner tonight! So many of you asked why there was no gelato picture yesterday. We've spent 10 beautiful days in Bologna with almost perfect weather. We expected cool temperatures but mostly we've had warmth (mid 70s) and sunshine. We've walked the city, eaten at many cafes and restaurants and have been enjoying every minute.

We will leave before dawn on our way to see the making of parmigiano reggiano and then to sample balsamic vinegars. It's lights out ...

... the F1's. 31 of them are kept in Maranello and you have to be invited by Ferrari to buy one! Then we were transported to the factory that develop the crank shafts and cylinder heads. Area was immaculate, relatively quite and full of trees and plants. Then off to the production line, this was amazing. A moving belt moves every 19 minutes to a new station where a particular job is done on the car. Pressure! That was V8's and V12's are moved along every 72 mins. 31 cars are produced ...

Woke to the amazing view of Lake Lucerne which was promptly covered by fog in about 10 minutes! Amazing how quick the fog came down but thankfully by the time we were ready to go out the fog had lifted. We decided to explore the town and walked along the wooden bridge covered in flowers and found a cafe called Heini which served a great breakfast of a milky muesli bread, cheese, ham and croissants. Bought ...
