      Great Location & Value

      from

This hotel had only been open a few months when we visited in Jan 06, following what seems to have been a major refurb. Not difficult to find, as directions on their website are v good - most simple route is from St Mark's, i'd say, but we'd never been anywhere like Venice and still didn't have a problem from Rialto.

The 2 staff we had most contact with were both supremely welcoming and helpful.

Room was v new & apartment style, with kitchen/diner as well as a generous-size (for Venice) double room & big bathroom. Extra cleaning fee of Euro30 if you use the Kitchen, though - we chose not to, as we were only in Venice for a few days. Quality of all fixtures & fittings was high. Bed large and very comfortable.

Location of this hotel/apt is simply perfect, especially if you like to return to your hotel for breaks or perhaps visiting when weather could by dodgy. 2 mins from St Marks, 3 mins from Rialto. Next to Canal, so a water taxi (feeling flush?) could drop you off at the door.

Breakfast (Eur 7 pp standard continental) was offered in our room for no extra (poss as January was v quiet time).

Try the hotel's own website for offers.

      Amazing, Amazing, Amazing

      from

I don't normally write reviews about places I've stayed in, but Residence Corte Grimani deserves my first attempt as it is just fantastic. My husband and I stayed there for a week in mid December and couldn't have asked for anything more where hotel accomodation and services are concerned.

The apartment was spacious, beautifully decorated, clean (I'm big on the clean thing), well located. The staff were helpful, knowledgeable and warm - not clinically doing a job.

I've no doubt that Residence Corte Grimani will become very popular soon as word spreads of such a gem in the heart of Venice. You've been warned to book early!

      Superb apartment style hotel

      from

My girlfriend and I recently spent 4 days there. We wish to add our compliments to all the others given here as TripAdvisor convinced us it was the right choice.

The cost/value was very good. The apartment was spacious & cleaned perfectly every morning. Donatella, Franca & others were all extremely courteous & helpful and someone was always on hand for trip advise and tips.

It's situated literally a few minutes walk from Saint Mark's Square although the route from the Rialto is a little more circuitous the first time it's attempted. I suggest you stay on the Vaporetto until SMS and then walk up to it.

It's down a small path starting at the bottom of a bridge & runs alongside a canal. Our room didn't look out over it but many did. Therefore with the windows open in the morning you could hear the Gondola men at work, which was appealing.

If the facilities mentioned in other reviews match what you are looking for I'd recommend you place it at the top of your list. We are already deciding when we can return to see the areas we missed due to the short stay (& chill) and needless to say we've already chosen the hotel.

      Beautiful Apartment on the Canal

      from

We increased our stay to four nights. The apartment had everything we needed, the staff were friendly and always helpful, and what a memory to hear the singing gondoliers from your apartment window. I plan to stay there again next year.

      Loved Corte Grimani

      from

My husband and I have just returned from Venice, and the Corte Grimani Residence was wonderful. This hotel offers apartments, which are fully equipped with kitchen, utensils, tv, bathroom, bedroom, dining and living room area. The beauty is that the hotel offers a 24 hour concierge, internet access, cleaning services, booking services etc. We felt like we had our own little home with all the full services any four star hotel offers. It was great. The staff was amazing -- they went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. On top of that the location is perfect. It's literally 2 minutes from San Marco Square and the best part is that it's located right next to the canal, so you can literally have a gondolier or private taxi pick you up right at the foot of your hotel. The great thing also is that although it's in the center of everything; it's location near the canal gives you a sense of tranquility. We loved this place. They just opened up two months ago, so it's not that well known yet. The one tricky thing is finding the hotel, so I highly suggest you have your map and speak to the staff at the hotel before you arrive to get exact directions. We definitely discovered a gem, and I guarantee in a year's time, it will be necessary to book months in advance to get an apartment in this hotel. I highly recommend it. The staff is wonderful, the hotel is clean, safe, accomodating, unique, and it's location is perfect with good rates. We hope to go back to Venice soon and when we do, we plan on staying at this great hotel. Thank you Franka, Guido, Donatella and Massimo for your wonderful hospitality :) You made our stay very pleasant.

      Great for families

      from

We agree whole-heartedly with all of the other reviews. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to go back. The rooms were spacious, with a huge bedroom, a pull-out couch, and even a small room large enough to hold a crib for our toddler. We didn't use the kitchen since we were there a short time and there is an extra 30 euro charge for cleaning if it is used, but it would be wonderful for a longer stay, with a washer and even a dishwasher. We asked the hotel staff for restaurant recommendations and had some wonderful meals as a result. They couldn't have been nicer. We enjoyed the 5 euro per person breakfast of croissants, tea or coffee, juice, and milk. Our kids were happy that a Burger King was just down the street. The location is great, right between two vaporetto stops with lots of great shopping and sightseeing nearby. We also couldn't find the hotel upon arrival but called and we were just around the corner. It's hidden around a corner, which is great as it is quiet. No complaints whatsoever!

Wonderful hotel in the heart of Venice!

      from

I can't say enough about this wonderful new hotel. My husband and I, along with another couple, stayed in one of their "smaller" apartments that was plenty large for all of us, and perfectly laid-out to accomodate 2 adult couples. The staff were all fluent in English, were very professional and helpful, and incredibly nice. When the reservation was made, the room we were getting supposedly had "no view", however, the view from our room was wonderful, and right on the canal - perfect for opening the windows to hear the singers and accordian players ride by on gondolas! Perfect location - only steps from St. Mark's Square - and value. The apartment was beautifully furnished and sound-proof. Note: breakfast is not included, although continental breakfast is available for 5-7 euro. Would highly recommend.

Can't tell you how much we LOVED this place!...

      from

We want to come back to celebrate a anniversary in the future. The staff was wonderful, very helpful. The location was very convenient, although finding it the first time was difficult even with the map the hotel staff sent me before the trip. Once we found it though, it was located in the best place. Easy walk to anywhere we wanted to go. The suite was clean, very roomy, and even had a washer/dryer which was very nice on the last leg of our trip. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone. Best place we ever stayed at!!!

Fabulous new hotel just off the square!

      from

We stayed in Venice for 5 nights at this location and it was great! We had our 2 kids with us, so we had a suite. They had just opened the week before we arrived and everything in our room was brand new! The suite had two rooms, two baths, and a small kitchenette with washer/dryer.We also had A/C which was a must in the summer. It was a very modern hotel that was located just about 3 minutes off of San Marcos Square. In the afternoon we would go back to our room to rest and we could open our windows and view the canal below with the Gondollas going through with the people singing to the tourists. It was agreat place to stay with the kids because we could buy food to have in our room. The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. Upon arrival they met us at the water taxi so we would not get lost finding their place! They wanted to know of any problems since they were newly opened. The rooms were very clean and we had maid service everyday. We did not have any problems with noise at night when we were sleeping. Our whole family thought this was the best place by far that we stayed in our 3 weeks in Europe. I would highly reccommend it.

We arrived at St Marco Square and walked through to our accommodation that was 50 metres past the square above the Gucci shop. The apartment was newly renovated and looked stunning. A real find for A$200 a night. The only downside was the steep stairs up 3 stories to get to the ...

We are staying in a cute little house tucked away behind the shops and restaurants so we could not have asked for a more convenient spot.
Travelling days are very disjointed at times so we hadn't had any lunch or dinner apart from a baguette and croissant we bought before leaving Nice so....the girls noticed a Gelato shop and made a bee line for that. We had decided we would just head off to bed but all the restaurants were just closing ...
