We enjoy our hotel breakfast in the cool air conditioned comfort of the the hotel. Most of us had a disturbed nights sleep due to the air conditioning cutting in and out all night. We've resigned ourselves to the fact that restful, quiet and peaceful sleep are words we will hopefully use once back home in Australia as hard as rock beds, pillows, noisey air conditioners and ...

Leaving Alberbello we make our way to the Grotte Di Castellana which is only a half hour drive from Alberbello. Arriving we stop for lunch at a local restaurant. The temperature is hot and we are all looking for some relief from the heat. We are seated at a lovely restaurant when I receive a phone call from my cousin Rita telling me that that our Great Aunt Zia Virginia passed away this morning at 10 am. It's such sad news as I had only held her ...

This means that practically the entire place closes down. We found the streets pretty ...

... br> We arrived in Brindisi just before 4.30 pm. The apartment that we would be based at was very close to the station. We were very relieved to find that it had airconditioning.

In the evening we wondered into town. The down town area is close to the port area. There was a large ferry moored at the harbour about to depart for Greece.

We found a nice restaurant nearby the Roman Column at the end of the Apian way where we enjoyed a nice bottle ...

    Last day at Cisternino

A travel blog entry by robynbee on Jun 25, 2015

Sorry my blog is a day late but today we went to Martina Franca another village not far away up high on a rock face, as they all seem to be!! We walked into the centro Storico
through the large stone archways. The place was amazing ,plenty of old buildings and narrow streets to walk around. Some amazing churches , a large bell tower and a palace. These early villages had everything, inside the churches you could always find ...
