Bill: We have played golf four times now. This time we found the Palmilla Beach Golf Club, a new resort course just near the Mustang Island State Park where we stayed this week. This round was a special treat—ocean side views, rolling sand dunes, and we both played great. The Head Pro was very accommodating, the course was immaculate, the staff knowledgeable and informative, and I only lost one golf ball.
... boardwalk to the beach then he returned to "G/G" to get some towels. The boys played for a while in the sand and a little in the water. After about 30 minutes, we returned to "G/G", cleaned the kids up then they departed for home. It was nice to be with them for a while and the boys got used to us. We'll see how long that lasts.
Dinner tonight was a catered affair, not great but OK. Overall, the meals this weekend ...
... luncheon at 11:30. Don't know why it's called the Red Hat/ROMEO luncheon. The ROMEO part is "Retired Old Men Eating Out", so that fits, but no one wears a red hat. port Aransas was very different than south padre island. port Aransas is "rounder", like a half moon, it feels bigger than spi although i'm not sure it is. in spi you can almost see from one side of the gulf to the bay, port Aransas isn't like that. it's not the "strip" that spi is. and there is no town center to speak of but many little areas with a few shops and restaurants throughout the town. the birding center here has ...
