... covering each of them. Believe it or not, this graffiti is now encouraged, but comes at a cost. A lot of people simply leave their expended spray paint cans lying on the ground. While this is somewhat of an iconic stop along the classic Route 66, much of its luster has been diminished. Still worth a stop as it only takes about 5 minutes to visit, and every time we drove down that stretch of road, there was always a gathering of sight-seers.

We thrns et off towards Genrio. We had no choice but to use the Interstate I-40 as the next few miles of the Route 66 is on Private Land, so we went off towards the New Mexico State line.

As we hit New Mexico, the clocks went back an hour.

New Mexico is mostly farm land and small towns a short drive away from eachother. As we entered the main Tucumcari strip, it was a shame to see lots of derelict ...

... up about 3 pounds into his Fred Flintstone size steak. Our server told us 50+ people a month try in the winter, but only 7 or 8 actually meet the challenge. In the summer, she said there is a constant flow of people trying. We had normal steak dinners and then did a short drive in Amarillo before heading back to the RV.
