Got up and packed and loaded everything into the car as the hotel wouldn't store out ****. Got to the car park bang in 10am. Parked up, followed some signs, and in a few minutes we were in Mexico. Some dudes with very big rifles. Walked over to downtown, avoiding the beggars and possible pick pockets, and wandered around for about an hour, had breakfast, about $6 each, and then decided to stop into a couple more shops ...

... ocean’s edge, lined with palm trees, views on the little island, nice benches for a sit and enjoy the sun.

And since we always are interested in something special: we are here when the worst storm hits San Diego since 7 years: wind gusts and rain and cold weather… it’s like being at home – if you overlook the palm trees. So besides going shopping we bike along the park with clouds and cold winds.

Once we returned to Old Town which gives you a taste of Mexico we decided it was time for lunch so what did we have, well we had Mexican, I had pork with salad and made my own corn roll which was really nice. My favourite thing in California are the sunsets, they are just gorgeous. On the 1st april I went for a walk along the quay of Downtown San Diego, and could enjoy it once again.

We went to Tijuana for the day, what a bloody disaster.
We hired a car, a little Kia Soul and drove down to the border, it took about 2 hours to get there.
On the way we stopped at a rest stop where the kids were able to feed some squirrels, that was excellent.
We arrived at the border around 11am, walked accross the border and entered Mexico without any hassles.
However the state of Tijuana is very different to what i remember 20 years ago, it it like a ghost town, ...
