Tidy little cabin with double bunk bed, single bed above and another 2 single bunk beds. Small fridge. Well stocked and maintained communal kitchen. Jumping pillow for the kids. Internet was quick and well priced at $7.00 for 100GB although it must be used within 24hrs.

      Hot Water Beach

Our second destination on the kiwi experience was a small town called hot water beach. However, in order to get there, we would have to spend a night in Auckland, and leave the following day. Our bus wasn't leaving Paihia till 2 o'clock in the afternoon, which meant we had a little lie in and time to stroll around to say goodbye to this quaint town …

This morning we woke up to the sun rising over our balcony, our last few hours on the ship. Land ahoy, good morning Auckland, New Zealand! We watched from our balcony as the tug boats attached themselves to the ship to bring us into port. We then made our way up to the front of the ship to watch as we docked at the Princess Wharf in the Waitemata …

Night 2 camp site at freezing Coromandel. We were the only ones with tent out in winter while the other lucky campers were in the comfort of their little camper van or the camp site hut.Well at least shower and toilet facilities were clean although we did need to pay 50 cents for 15 minutes of running water. That’s not long enough for girls …

At the railway not only did he build the track himself (including designing the layout of the track, bending the rails, laying the rails, building retaining walls, everything basically) he also designed the trains & cars that visitors now use for rides along the track. The track works ...
