We said goodbye to Joy yesterday evening which was a bit emotional. I can not wait to go myself right now. 11 Weeks and 3 days before I land in Rio. Not that I am counting!
I am yet again one step closer though: After booking the tickets, moving bedrooms, forever not trying to spend any money and Joy leaving already, I decided to tell work about my traveling plans. It was such a relief! Slowly but surely my time will come! Muahahaaa!
Well 7 weeks to GO!!!!
June is still busy buying clothes can't keep her out the shops. We are busy trying to set up all the systems we need in place and staff what they need to do in our absence.
Great finding so many people interested in what we will be doing and where we are travelling to.
Just want to get Junes problem sorted at the hospital they are messing us about. Got heavy with them today.
Watch out for the next update.
... hassle to drag him out. Normally I would say something, but I thought as I was sitting next to the guy for the next 11 hrs it wasn't worth the hassle. Plus I normally ask for the aisle seat anyway, so I can walk around as I please.
Finally as the plane revved up and started along the runway the cabin really started shaking as if it was going to fall to bits any second. I turned to the guy and said, "that doesn't sound healthy does it?"
And off we went!
To be continued...
Well - being in Cardiff was good since it is the closest airport, being on a 2-hr drive to the hotel. But had to wait about an hour for the rental car place to open up.
At least I got to go through the visitor information brochures and grab a bite at Burger King.
... but i dont want to
spend to much money and also want to learn to travel about the Island
on public transport!!
Getting a bit nervous about flying though cuz last time i went on a
plane the turbalance was so bad that some people were sick and crying
and even the cabin crew got scared. Right Adiois Amegos here i come
Gran Canaria **SUNSHINE** :-D
I had an extra long surf first thing in the morning before we headed off. Although it was small in I really enjoyed it. I had tried to convince Kim to stay for the forcasted HUGE swell in 2 days time but I knew that we had places to go and things to see and that it really was not on the cards. So it was time to head back east.

a walk to the train station in tournai, a train to lille, then another train to caines, then a walk to the ferry terminal, then a ferry to dover, and then two busses to bristol, and then a ride from the coach station to the farm. whoo hoo made it. 11 hrs and 70 BS later. but it was the only option without spending more money...
there was not much of a view on the ...
... was going to stop near Sowton Industrial Estate as well as the busstation. We decided to go there as the journey wouldnt be as long and the departure time would be later. We waited and waited but no coach showed up. After phoning Stage Coach again we found out the coach was delayed (!) and that we had to wait another hour! Luckily we had plenty of time anyway since the flight was ...
Exmouth, England, United Kingdom pickmoredaisies... delicious dinner of chicken, beef, fried rice, and salad! Wednesday, I got to sleep in (a real treasure when you're backpacking!) Then we went to Minehead to pick up my great aunt for a very nice lunch in Dunster. In Minehead, along the beach, 'Britian's Strongest Man' was being filmed, and we had a perfect view of gigantic men flipping over cars about eight times! Dunster was a very cute town where they used to sell wool. We had such a good lunch in a ...
Taunton, England, United Kingdom anniemac7... before the Poles showed up (he was actually finishing his second pint of hard cider and getting ready to leave), so after the shots he was pretty tanked. I'm a seasoned drinker, though, so I was still okay, but really enjoying the weirdness of the whole thing. The Poles left after six shots, and David was ready to spend the night drinking instead of going home for dinner. We stumbled through Bath from pub to pub, getting a pint in each before moving on ...
