All is quiet on New Years Day
... idols, walked in the footsteps of Jack the Ripper and paid our respects at Australian war memorials in London, Le Hamel and Brussels. We've stood above the site of Hitler’s bunker, visited the room where the German war machine accepted defeat and signed the surrender, and recognized the insurmountable odds the allies faced at Omaha Beach.

... Although Agatha was born in Devon, she spent her later years in Winterbrook, Oxfordshire near Cholsey Parish and was buried in the local church. The church looks not unlike nay of the hundreds of other small churches throughout the UK, but it is obvious that many people make the pilgrimage to her grave. People have left 'offerings’ to the great Dame’s memory in the form of copies of her books, as well as the expected flowers, wreathes etc.

Christmas Pimms!
... It was a spectacular success. A by-product was some left over ginger syrup, sticky and too sweet, which we tried in lemonade and found it very hot!
But the really wonderful blend was of the two sets of left overs and a good slosh of ginger beer. It was so palatable that we chucked the spiced vodka back into the jar of soaked fruits and mixed the whole lot up with the ...
The Beginning!
Two days before I get on the plane to sunny Mexico and Daisy and I are still unsure of whether we are meeting in Rio de Janeiro or Buenos Aires, my rucksack is defiantly empty, and I have not eaten nearly enough Christmas leftovers.
But remaining calm. After all, I have three lists to remind me of all the things I have yet to do, including 'learn Spanish'.

The Glastonbury cathedral ruins are impressive but the most amazing site for me was the Chalice Well. I'm not much of a one for 'feeling' the pressence of things, but there is something very special about this place.
Definitely a community I could settle in.
