... in front of the stuffed peppers, so it was probably a sauce for the peppers. Jack got a mystery orange thing and said it was pureed chickpeas, so I’m guessing my green stuff was chickpeas with lemon and avocado. All the food was good.
Mon 26 May Antalya
Today we had an orientation walk in old town Antalya, the jewel of the Turquoise Coast. We acquired a black dog with 2 white front feet. It was cool and shady and the walk was ...
We turned off for the old city of Aspendos. The first thing you come to is the bridge across what was a pretty fast flowing river. I guess the snow is melting fast and the water looked the pale green colour of very cold melted glaciers. (We know we have tried to swim in them in Kazakhstan. A.) The bridge is a recent 12C version of the Roman bridge which stood there.

... so seeing what it was exactly like is tricky and maybe the pictures show this.
The city is set at the top of a couple of mountain passes and was apparently a tough fortress since Alexander the Great gave up besieging the place in 333BC and moved on. Certainly the massive walls were impressive but I couldn't understand why the buildings were built of such huge blocks. I could imagine the city ...
The streets were very noisy last night, it was Saturday Night. Needless to say neither of got a really good sleep. So we were a bit slow moving this morning, then took the old tram to the Antalya Museum. There was an extensive display of items found in various mounds in the area, as well the items brought to the museum from the Ancient City of Perge, which we visited yesterday. The ...
... up which Annie took to give an impression. Almost all the objects come for the Anatolian region and lot of the statues are from Perge, an old Roman town nearby which now is not much at all but in it's 2nd C heyday sported a huge 'theatre' which had lots and lots of enormous statues. Many of them have somehow survived and the quality is really impressive. We could have spent more time in the museum but there's only so ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Cornelia De Luxe Resort Belek
This hotel is absolutely fantastic! My partner and I stayed at the Cornelia in the 1st week of September to celebrate both of our birthdays. I read all the reviews of the Hotel before we booked so we had a good idea of what to expect but the holiday met, and hugely exceeded, all of our expectations. The service was attentive without being too intrusive, the entire complex was spotless and constantly being cleaned, the hotel itself was stunning, the food was fantastic (especially the a la carte restaurants) and the staff were wonderful. One of the best points for us were the pools, they were beautifully clean and always empty. To be honest neither of us could find a single fault with the holiday, 7 nights was far too short! We're already planning our next trip to Cornelia.
We have just returned from Hotel Cornelia, Belek. All I can do is agree with the other reviews - the food was exceptional the service from the staff was the best we have ever received. Your glasses were refilled as soon as they were empty - all the drinks were named brands (Gordons Gin etc.). The restaurants were all exception. The only thing I would say to beware of is the shop were you buy the newspapers - watch your change!!! We are already planning to return next year!! - Excellent holiday.
Just one word: Perfect.
We went to Cornelia for our honeymoon, while we were waiting for a standart room they upgraded our resevation to Junior Villa suites which have a outstanding view of the pool and a private quay.
We felt really upset when we left the hotel yesterday. We would stay there for years. The service was perfect (de luxe all inclusive) and the people were very friendly.
We loved this place. Hope to visit soon.
My wife and I have just come back from the Cornelia, having spent a week there from 2 to 9 September.
This has got to be the best hotel we have ever stayed in.
Excellent hotel, you must go!!
stayed here for 2 weeks early june, excellent hotel, very hot weather, safe resort for walking along thebeach, food we couldnt fault, excellent chinese restaurant which we visited 3 times in our holiday, very good turkish restaurant in the grounds, all of the branded drinks were in the all inclusive package which we didnt expect. rooms were very big, with a huge bed, lovely views looking out to sea, 24 hour room service for food which we used many times was excellent, after coming back from daphnes bar early hours of the morning!!! just watch out for the shop, very very expensive & short changed us a couple of times, do not use.. but other than that cant wait to go back...
My family and i stayed at this fantasic hotel for the first 2 weeks in August. I'm not going to waffle....i'll be simple but truthful.....Wonderful, fantastic, relaxing, entertaining, spotlessly clean, great for all ages, friendly staff, exactly what the brochure says. DEFINITELY 5 STAR........
What more could you ask for. We would all love to return to the Cornelia Hotel.
North West Family.
The Cornelia hotel is a true luxurious all-inclusive resort. We stayed in one of the Junior Suite Villas which are fantastic with direct access from your balcony into one of the pools. There are many pools in the resort, beautiful bars & restaurants, excellent food with besides the main buffet restaurant, another 4 a la carte ones, which are all excellent. Staff are extremely friendly and always happy to help. For an extra bit of pampering, try the treatments at the Tuana Spa, from beauty to massage treatments, again all beauticians & masseurs are very friendly and polite, and the treatments are really worth it - still feeling chilled now ....... we would fully recommend the Cornelia resort for a relaxation holiday, and will certainly visit again. Feel free to email us if you have any questions.
We stayed at the Cornelia for 2 weeks in early June and the hotel was fantastic and the weather was very hot. We couldn't find any reviews on the hotel before we left so we did not know what to expect but we were not disappointed.
