... we googled where this was & stopped in for a photo on the way.
Also on the way to Cork was the Jameson Wiskey Distillery. We stopped in there for the tour, which of course included a tasting at the end. Again I'm not sure if Dane enjoyed his Wiskey or my face after trying his Wiskey (I got orange juice instead) more.
Right near Cork is Passage West, where my great grandfather ...
Early morning bus for 4.5 hours to get to Cork this morning. Our hostel is really close to the bus station so was very easy to find, we are staying in our first ever dorm tonight we have been snobs up until now and had our own private room we were in a dorm with two Swedish girls who were really nice. We walked down ...

The best way I can describe a bobsleigh ride is like a very intense roller coaster, one minute you are going straight and building up speed quickly and the next you are being pushed down into your seat as the sled rockets around one of the many turns on the track. The turns feel like they come out of nowhere and each one is more terrifying than the last, it really ...
... stabbed. After winning a free round and having suffered quite enough American derision, we decided to part from the pair and make our way to Colm's pub. Drunk Stephen lamented not being able to join us on our pub crawl, but his fiancee was coming to pick him up and he had work in the morning.
Arriving at the Gateway Bar, Mark greeted us from behind the bar. Over the course of the next few hours we essentially ran Colm's pub. Mark taught Rufio to pour the perfect pint of ...

When we got back to Cork, I showed Mom and Mal my campus and dorm. Then we headed to the city for dinner. After I showed Mal and Colt the pubs of Cork. The funny thing is, since practically no Irish students stay in Cork on the weekend and I am always traveling or recovering from traveling, I don't think I have ever gone out on a Saturday night. So we started at one pub, Oliver Punkett, ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Cork International Airport Hotel
An amazing hotel
This is a fabulous hotel.Stayed for 1 night in transit.
The room was very comfortable .We had dinner in the restaurant which was excellent. The service was very efficient and friendly.
From a design point of view this is a wonderful place. The fittings are very high quality and very stimulating.I would highly recommend this hotel.
Thank you for taking the time to add your review to the site. We are glad you enjoyed your short stay with us and we hope to welcome you back you soon,
Amazing place for an airport hotel. Had one night here with our two small children and it was worth every penny (c.£100). Don't know if we were upgraded or not but our room was collossal with a tv to match and beautifully appointed. We had to leave at 5am in the morning and so the excellent continental breakfast brough to our room as part of the wake-up call (no extra charge) was very welcome.
We stayed in a family room ("2 double beds) for i night on a park and fly basis. The hotel is very modern and even quite quirky in design. It had only opened the previous month so everything was not quiet up to speed.
Cork international airport hotel
We chose this hotel as it had a special rates offer due to the fact that it is new. It was said to have opened 2 months ago. The staff were receptive, attentive and helpful. The room was well serviced and exceptionally clean. The breakfast menu, on weekdays, had a wonderful spread of both continental and irish foods. At weekends, the choice is slightly limited. The big let-down is the absence of restaurant services on weekends in both luncheon and dinner. Food was available in the bar but they are what one would describe as "junk food" eg hamburgers, chips and sausages. We would not return to this hotel if restaurant catering continues to be "infrequent".
I had forgotten how things can be in a recently-opened hotel.
This place is very nice. VERY quirky design in public areas. Lots of great staff (who aren't suite up to speed yet).
I look forward to returning here in a few months when they have got their ducks in a row.
Knocks the local competition away. Good product & good service (more to follow im sure as they get organised). Free Broadband for computer users is a good plus.
Good luck guys!!!
