    ... the afternoon we took a trip by coach to a ruined castle high above the town. The trip up was memorable for the climb and the narrowness of the road. The scenery at the top was spectacular. We were able to look inland at the mountains for which the Balkans are known, and seaward across the Ionian Sea towards Corfu and Italy.
