Rodovia PE 09 - Km 6,5 Porto de Galinhas, State of Pernambuco, Brazil
... for Aica diving. Michel ( a great teacher), Mida (his nutty wife), Isabelle (6 yr old mermaid) and Rodrigo (instructor currently living in their house) made me feel so welcome, never let me be lonely, put up with my lack of Portuguese, took the mick endlessly, made me laugh till my stomack hurt, fed me, watered me, and generally kept me entertained for the whole 3 weeks. Thanks guys, am gonna miss you.
Arapiraca, Brazil renardMacieo is a pretty little coastal city. Lots of parks scattered around the city that have similar looking benches and trees surrounded by similar looking streets and buildings. Needless to say I spent much of my time wandering around the city trying to find my dingy little hotel. Being lost is annoying, yet being lost and having diarrhea adds to the frustration. Since my hotel was the smallest and cheapest one in the city many taxi ...
Macieo, Brazil kalchalker... Brazil's famous 'rodízio' buffet spread. On an exceptionally warm evening in Maceió, we were enticed by the extravagant spread of dozens of cold salads, and consequently loaded our plates to overflowing. Minutes later our waiter appeared with a juicy piece of roast beef on the end of a long sword. Although protesting that we couldn't possibly fit any more onto our plates, we picked up the tongs on our table and graciously accepted the tasty morsels that he sliced with his ...
Porto de Galinhas, Brazil thymeoffSalvador is the 3rd biggest city in Brazil and definitely the most colourful. We ended up flying there after we worked out it was going to be a 44 hour bus ride to get there...which based on how frequently we seem to end up near the sloshing toilet on the buses really didn't seem like a good idea! Salvador is an awesome city. It boasts African culture in terms of the people, music and food. Many African slaves were bought over from West Africa ...
Salvador, Brazil markandaliFinally got on a bus to pipa and then on to sibauma- where the party was.....or so we thought. 10 mins into our bus ride some giggling locals tell us that the party has been moved to pipa!!! Picture 5 white ozzies dumped in the middle of a tiny rural town in northeast brazil - sibauma- we were certainly a strange sight for the locals who were all ogling us. After five or so minutes of looking completely ...
Pipa and Sibauma, Brazil salkelely... was so hot and I got a headache But suddenly a taxi driver asked us where we want to go and it was quiet cheap ... And also another man ... with very light skin wanted to join us. He spook fluently english and was from Holland. I couldn`t believe that he was 63, because he seams to be younger. Melih talked with ...
Porto de Galinhas, Brazil rese_ma... as they passed water, and they both ended up falling in past their waists. The little girl screamed in terror, and I snuck a quick photo. On our way to the highway, I befriended the Brazilians. They invited me to their house, where they cleaned my shorts and, finally, gave me a coconut to drink. We talked until the sun went down on the "Day of Adventure," er, sorry, "Squids Will One Day Take Over the World." I was introduced to a 77-year old man who'd travelled all of Brazil while ...
