zipolite, Central Mexico and Gulf Coast, Mexico rambler... hardly ever do it themselves. Jason and I did our own thing as none of them was very talkative anyways. On a joint dinner of the group we missed out and went to our favourite spot instead called Posada Mexico and is a wonderful Italian place with delicious pizzas and excellent cocktails. When we got back to the tent everybody was around a fire but nothing was really spoken. Jason and I got our marshmallows out to share with everybody thinking this was really nice of us, but ...
San Agustinillo, Pacific Coast, Mexico lenitasworld... DOS commands. So he's been able to save all the photos and document files. If the hard drive has to be totally wiped out we will still have our photos. Actually, there is only about one month worth of photos on the laptop because we periodically copy our photos to DVDs which we mail to Irina's brother Al. He lets us know if they came through okay and then we delete them. We spent 11 happy days in Zipolite and hope to return.
Puerto Angel, Mexico yoni... roll and then spending the remaining nine on the beaches of Brazil. No matter how hard I tried to tell him of my strong distaste for the cold weather, he wouldn't listen and told me I was crazy if I didn't listen to him. He is a highly entertaining character and I am thrilled to have made is acquaintence. I went to a posture awareness class at the place where I am getting acupuncture and that was a trip. The class was great but the overall ...
Mazunte, Mexico roamingjodi... that was going on and when through the basic steps of doing a basic pediatric examination. She was from DF (Mexico City or Districto Federal) doing her four months of service at a rural hosp ital that is required of all residents in Mexico. I can tell that I am understand more Spanish all of the time, but it was very hard for me at times because people would ask me for stuff, but I wouldn't know what it ...
Pochutla, Mexico shef11308... cheese etc in the same way as a pizza would be, folded in half and then grilled over a barbecue. Very tasty. We headed back to the hostel and to bed. By this time, we were feeling fed up and unhappy in Puerto Angel. The hostel had appeared to be really nice, but the staff and many of the other guests were cliquey and unwelcoming and we didn't feel that comfortable there. We had bought ourselves a loaf of bread at one point ("Bimbo" brand bread, no less. A sort ...
Puerto Ángel, Mexico jacobandkirsty... we are woken to crashes as the winds speed through our cliff top cabana. We tried to Batten down the hatches, but 15 mins later the wind had blown the front open again and the hammock was swinging dangerously and nosily about. This time Kathryn held down the tent flap, i tried to fix the rope around the side of the window and then we covered the bottom of the flap with furniture - it seemed to do the trick. The entrance was zipped and padlocked ...
Mazunte, Mexico lizzatwell... I reached the top of a cliff and looked down to find a beautiful cove with a beach down below. The water here is so warm. The waves looked gentle so I ventured in and happily bounced with the waves... until I was flipped upside down and tossed about. I left the ocean quickly, all orifices full of sand and salt. I sat with my Corona and settled down to listen to my music. Last night I met a surfer who told me all about ...
Puerto Escondido, Mexico kittenbum... ed out on a tour to Teotihuacan to see the pyramids! It turned out that our tour actually went to the Bassilica so we could have saved ourselves the train ride! The pyramids were really interesting and gave us an excuse to get some excercise! We climbed the Pyramid of the Sun but didn´t make it to the Pyramid of the Moon (our tour guide didn´t seem to think it was very interesting!)! So on Saturday afternoon we headed to a town called Puebla, which is about 2 hours ...
