... is a 12th century castle and a picturesque harbour. Pendine is noted for its golden sands and Malcolm Campbell made land speed record attempts at this beach. The tide was in or else the record was over a short distance. Amy Johnson took off from here in 1933 for her trans Atlantic flight. We had a look at Saundersfoot from a Harbourside car park. As we were driving along today we saw lots of caravan and camping grounds. More than we can previously remember. The roads in ...

My first train of the day was on the Conwy Valley Line, which runs through the heart of the Snowdonia region to the slate mining town of Blaenau Ffestiniog. The trip takes about an hour and a half, but there's ...

Today was the last day for the season that the Talyllyn Railway in Tywyn Wales was running. It was a definite "todo" on Tristan's list as this railway was essentially the inspiration for the Thomas the Tank Engine stories.

Was it meantioned that Jessamy had christened the car as "Chester"? We were all up early, had breakfast in the Bath hotel, packed bags into Chester and on the way by 8AM. The car navigation app said that it would take 4 hours to Tywyn and for Tristan;s sake we ...
