Agia Kyriaki (Chrisopolitissa) & St. Paul's Pillar

Agia Kyiakis is a 12th-century A.D. Byzantine church. It is not overly impressive, but it does have a large basilica and bishop's palace surrounding it from the 4th century A.D. In the front courtyard of the church there stands a white, 1st-century pillar according to tradition, is the place where Paul was tied and scourged. Of course, there is no historical evidence for this claim but the pillar very well could have been around when Paul was ...

Tombs of the Kings

These graves are not thought to belong to royalty but to wealthy, prominent families and persons. The tombs date back to the 3rd-century B.C. The most impressive tombs are peristyle with Doric columns encircling an open court or lining the entrance way to the tomb. Each tomb was carved out from native rock and typically contained several graves (burial places). Most, if not nearly all, of these graves would have been present when Paul was visiting the city. ...

... in the early 2nd century A.D. and most certainly belonged to very eminent and wealthy individuals in the city. The mosaics have been well preserved and largely intact. The most impressive is found in what is known as “The House of Dionysius” because the god Dionysius is the central figure depicted in the mosaics. Two other villas are worthy of note: “The House of Aion” and “The House of Theseus”. Specifically, the House of Theseus is the ...

... Paphos... And saw where Aphrodite's rock is situated... We will go back and look at that properly later. We drove straight to Kriton's Dad's apartment for a light meal of fresh cut fruit, bread, olives, haloumi, and the most amazing feta cheese I've ever tasted! What a way to be introduced to Cypriot cuisine .... Delicious! Feta and sliced watermelon is a marriage made ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Corallia Beach Hotel Apartments Paphos

    Not much to complain about

    from

This hotel is a bit old and tatty but apart from that, it is everything you could want for a beach/pool holiday. It's right on a reasonable beach, has a very nice pool and most rooms have stunning views. We actually liked the food too but the evening meal was better than the breakfast.

Freuen uns schon aufs nächste Mal

    from

    Beeindruckender Blick

    from

Corallia Beach / Coral Bay - Nice and Quiet

    from

We picked the Corallia Beach because we wanted a quiet, low-stress week. The reviews suggested that it would be what we wanted and they weren't wrong. We had a studio on the top (3rd) floor. The kitchen was clean and well-equipped with all you would need (not sure about the lockable fridge though?). The view from the room was excellent and the pool and beach were right outside. The staff were very friendly. You really need to go to Coral Bay if you want to eat at different places - It about 10 minutes walk so it's no problem. The supermarket is 5 minutes walk away (avoid the on site shop - it hardly stocks anything and is slightly expensive). We didn't bother going to Paphos - as I said, we wanted to chill out and it would probably have the same as Coral Bay - but just more of it.

The hotel beach is clean and safe for swimming. The sunbeds are cleaned every morning and only cost £3 per day (two beds and the umbrella thingy). The pool is nice and there are ample sunbeds with waiter service (didn't stop the Germans putting towels on a few at 7am though - why?????). The air con worked well (and was needed). Not a lot here for kids (that's one reason we picked it). The younger ones will like the pool and beach but the Kevin and Perrys may find it rather boring. All in all, a good holiday with no complaints - we never go to the same place twice but, if we did, this may be a place we'd go back to.

    Excellent at Corallia

    from

Myself and my boyfriend stayed at this Hotel B&B in May. It is situated at the end of Coral Bay and the last stop for most transfers but well worth it from our point of view. Our apartment had beautiful views over the pool, beach and sea which were all within walking distance. It was clean, and a good size room with all the amenities we could want for. The shower was excellent which we value after a day in the heat! The pool was especially clean and plenty of sun beds and parasols which is always a bonus! The beach was small, but clean and the entry to the sea was a bit rocky in places but great to have just on your doorstep. The breakfast and lunches were recommended at the hotel but the evenings were very quiet so we tended to go into Coral Bay town which was about 10 mins walk away, 20 mins stroll! The strip had plenty of restaurants, bars, shops all very nice and much quieter than in Paphos. The bus stopped right outside the hotel and you can easily get into Paphos Harbour and town for some entertainment but if staying on until late the taxi journeys proved expensive and varied night to night - be warned.

Well worth a visit. Everyone seemed really friendly and everyone appeared to keep going back - I know we will.

    Best Views in Coral Bay

    from

just got back from a week away with my girlfriend in Cyprus. This was our first time in Cyprus so we didn't know what to expect. Reading the reviews for the Corallia beach we thought it sounded really nice. The start to the holiday was not that great as we had loads of screaming kids on the plane with 2 behind us kicking our chairs for the duration of the 4 hour flight. Then when we got to Paphos airport (more like a shed) there was a nightmare with the baggage and we had to wait 2 hours for our stuff. When we finally got on the coach we were so tired that we just wanted to get there.

When we finally got to the Corallia Beach Apts (this is the last stop if you have transfers) we thought it looked really nice. When we got into reception the people were friendly and extremely helpful. We had a ground floor apartment which when opening the patio door had beautiful views out to sea with the beach and pool about 30 seconds walk from our room. The room was basic and bathroom could have done with a bit of updating but it was clean and had everything we needed (including air con). Be warned though as Cyprus runs on the 3 pin sockets so we spent a fortune on adaptors (Dixons told us Cyprus was 2 pin) then couldn't use any of them including the mozzie killer.

The food in the hotel was not great so I would advise you to go self catering because there are so many decent places to eat out plus it isn't that expensive to eat out anyway but as for views and location this hotel wins hands down. It was half term and we were expecting loads of kids but there were hardly any in this hotel.

Another bonus of this place is that the bus stop is just outside and the bus is only 80cent whether you go 1 stop or 30 stops. We went into Paphos a couple of times and found a beautiful italian called La Piazza which did the best fillet steaks (as good as Gaucho Grill) but Coral Bay was only a 10 min walk from the hotel and there are some great restaurants there. We had some of the best fish we have had and the swordfish was delicious.

As for the beach it was spotless and was almost like your own private beach. The sea was crystal clear and great for Snorkelling. Me and my girlfriend will definitley be coming back to Cyprus and would certainly come back to the Corallia Beach

p.s. one more thing. You are better going to the supermarket just down the road as the one on site is slightly expensive.

    Stunning Views

    from

Booked this hotel from reviews off Trip Advisor and it didn't disappoint. The location of this hotel is it's biggest selling point. You are right on the beach, we booked a Studio sea view room from which the views were stunning, with a sunset view every night. The room was to a basic self catering standard but very clean and of a good size. Staff were very pleasant, friendly and any request was catered for.

The hotel has a bus stop right outside which takes you to the main resort of coral bay where the restaurants and bars were and also to Pafos. Although there is a couple of bars beside the hotel which we found to be excellent too.

We booked with the hotel directly (and flights) and made a saving of £200 from travel agents. Breakfast was also included when we went direct. Breakfast was also worth getting up for (something I normally give a miss abroad)

Thoroughly recommended, we had an extremely enjoyable holiday.

    A great holiday

    from

spent an enjoyable 3 weeks at the Coralia Beach April/May2006. The hotel was all your previous reviewer said. We had a first floor appartment overlooking the pool and the sea.

The room was kept spotlessly clean and any faults were dealt with immediately. The staff were all very attentive and pleasant, especially the waiters in the restaurant and the reseption area. The holiday was not spoilt by roudy children or drunks as experienced on last years holiday at a different hotel. The food in the restaurant was varied and well prepared with a different theme each night. I especially recommend the Sunday dinner which was a carvery of Beef, lamb and pork and the Chef was always trying to persuade you to try some of each. This was easily our best holiday in Cyprus in the seven years we have been going there. We travelled by Cyprus airline scheduled flight from Stanstead and this is certainly the best way to travel with none of the hassel that you seem to get from the package companies. our holiday was booked through Mercury Direct including car hire. Car came from Petsasl and they even upgrade us to an airconditioned one, insidently their hire rates include Damage collision waiver which you dont get from a lot of the cheaper car hirers

    Can't wail to go back

    from

We have stayed at Coral Bay many times but Corallia is our favorite and can't wait to return this October.

It is so quiet and peacefull, little entertainment 2 nights a week but a nice walk to the village for a meal or a drink, although the food in the hotel is very good and reasonable at £5.00 for buffett dinner.

The pool area is so nice over looking the beach and just a few steps to go on the beach.I always wear water shoea in the sea as there are lots of rocks under foot and the sand can be sharp.

The rooms are large and comfortable the sea view is great and the sunsets amazing. It makes you so lazy when you don't even have to get off your sun bed for a drink as the waiters are ready to serve you. Brandy Soar is a good drink.Role on the 1st October 14 days of sun and rest

Lovely quiet area with the best beach

    from

We booked only 3 days before travel but were pleasently surprised. There were a lot of drop offs on the way from the airport & we were the last, it did take a while considering it wasn't far in miles. The beach is the best sandy beach in the area with lovely clear water.

Our apartment was larger than expected with a full kitchen which was lovely for our tea's & coffee's & cold drinks as we were H/B.

The food was good although not as hot as we would of liked if you were later down, vegatarians need to notify the staff as there is a lot of meat in everything, we spoke to the General Manager far to late in our holiday but once she knew she made sure we had a nice veggie meal.

Sunday & Thursday there is no cleaner service,it didn't say in our Libra brochure & there is nothing to tell you at the apt's so make sure you dry your towels out yourselves & make your bed (no hardship really).

The bus service is excellent, 70c no matter how far you go. The market is very good & the harbour is lovely. Pavements in the area are not good 2 ladies had broken arms while we were there so take care.

Other than the tiny shop on the site its quite a walk if your legs aren't good to Coral Beach shops, it took us 22 mins & that was a fast walk. Kings supermarket we found cheaper than Angelian's.

Hope you have as good a time as we did.
