Our free day in Antalya, yeah! We got up and had a relatively leisurely breakfast for us, 8am. After a bit of organising we headed off to explore the old city of Antalya which is about a 10 minute walk from our hotel. We left the hotel this morning to head to the white terraces of Pamukkale. By the way, I won the battle with the hotel - yes, one up for the tourist! It cost me the grand sum of $15!!!!

The markets were amazing – I didn’t know how many cheeses there are besides Feta Cheese! Lots of different nuts and olives were available (Greece is the 3rd largest olive oil producers after Italy and Spain). Another specialty in the area is the leather goods and Cretan folk art items, which include ceramics, ...

... 8230;but why??

Over a beer on the water in the town of Kaş, our unexpected walking companion Werner (pronounced more like Verner), told us he loved the freedom, the solitude and the feeling of being at one with nature, carrying all you need in just one bag. His reasons hold true for us as well.....but surely there must be more to it?

Perhaps Werner himself is one of the reasons we love to walk........is it the people you meet along the way? We ended ...
