... losses was the best option at that point and I took the taxi from the hotel which is a preset price of $6. All in all that is not bad for a 30 minute ride and it beats hauling my **** around town at sunrise looking for a bus that may or may not exist. When I travel searching out those deals is like a game for me but when it doesn't work out, no worries. That's just life. It all evens out in the end...Pay more one time and less another.

A German couple ...
Fujairah, United Arab Emirates atlpilot36... very scenic rock formations to the city of Fujairah.I remained in the bus as it continued its way to the enclave of Khor Fakkan that is actually a Sharjah owned territory on the eastcoast. 6 emirates in one day, and happy to be back in Dubai for the night!
Ar Rawdah, Oman lfichterOne of my project managers, whose familly had gone back to Begium for the hollidays, was king enough to invite me for a day out in his Pathfinder. He drove me towards Oman, to the south, to show me some of the beautiful treasures of the country. We avoided the main touristy places in the ares, which are total dumps where your steps crip on the layer of rubbish that liters the ground. Instead he took me to a small wadi. Wadis are river beds, which flood only after the rain ...
Hatta, Dubai, United Arab Emirates peacefrog... Qatar in the 1700's to create their own country where the could carry on like pork-chops and not have anyone tell them not to. In the 70's the Amir of the time actually got with the program and created a constitution which allowed for an elected assembly. The first of these assemblies was sworn in in 1973 but it turned out to be too much of a handful for the poor old throne sitter so he dissolved it in 75 and there hasn't been one since. Apart from some serious arguments ...
Fujairah, United Arab Emirates jock298... other white people, in fact the only non-whites in there were the filipino servers. This entire set up was especially odd because once we walked out those doors, we saw absolutely NO white people, they all seemed to drive directly here and go directly to the marina bypassing all of the city. We walked in soaking wet from walking across the city in 105 degree heat, and the reactions of the people were great. We were being stared at for our first 5minutes there. This was also the only place I ...
Fujairah, United Arab Emirates midtowntsl0... spend the night, and come back the next day. Or, you can go with a group of friends on a road trip to Oman, and this is where my lack of an ability to make friends starts to get annoying! I mention this because my visa was expiring sooner rather than later; I had no money, no friends, no time, no driver's licence, and no easy way out of the country! I had to come up with something, and fast. In doing so, I ...
Hatta, United Arab Emirates holyrockthrower... singing Christmas Carols with a Russian accent. Amusing enough I guess. They were doing the Macarena when we left. The highlight that made it all worth the modest price was Santa's arrival-- he came to the beach on a JET SKI!!!!! Too funny! I must say I have never seen that before. Too bad I did not have my camera for that.
Fujairah, United Arab Emirates jennm... the Hatta Heritage Village, a mock up of a traditional arab village once found in the area. It primarily showed us how people used to live, the local laws and traditions, and how to use a squat toilet... The highlight for me was going up into the Hajar Mountains, and taking some rough off road tracks (thankfully we had a nice 4x4). Apparently these are used for smuggling between the two countries, avoiding the border crossing on the main routes. I didn't see any ...
Willayat of Mahadah, Oman darrenstravels... but he still won. Mark is approached by a chinese girl, and he ignores her. She moves on to talk to me, and well... I won't go into any details about our 1 minute chat. Suffice to say, it isn't for minors who may be reading this :) I kindly decline her offer of being friends, and we're left alone for the remainder of the evening. I think I was too afraid to look around the club, so really, all I can tell you is that there were definitely more women than men, and they were ...
