... to Rhonda and her advice, we also visited St Nicholas Abbey, which was lovely…..and in the evening treated ourselves to dinner at The FishPot (excellent) after lunch at Nanika (no wonder we piled on the pounds this holiday)!
All in all, a most relaxing and enjoyable end to our Caribbean adventure…..the R&R necessary to ensure a calm approach to our 44 hour journey back here to Surabaya!
... in front of them, others staff members trying to use their benefits but falling short. The customer service of the AA representatives was horrendous enough to be worthy of its own blog, but it's not one I feel like writing right now. We were all trying different options. We thought about trying from different airlines - everything is full. Different islands, everything is full. We even thought ...
Rockley, Barbados kilgiraffeThis is my third day trying to get out of the island on standby. I was 38/47 on the list earlier. So many families of staff members using their tickets for holiday.. It's insanity. It seems to be impossible to get out of the Caribbean right now! Hopefully I'll figure out something soon, otherwise I may have to cancel parts of my itinerary.. :(
Rockley, Barbados kilgiraffe... phone back up, trying to put all of the pieces back (even though they wouldn't fit in the original box) and sent us on our way. They told her to come back in a few days if this didn't fix her problem. Some of the smells were, well, I held my breath. We saw people dressed, in public, in their pj's. I guess the city's mentally ill.
The domino men ~ this is a simple, straight-forward game of dominoes and when they play, it's on a ...
Dear Blog,
As much as I enjoyed this morning's excursion, this afternoon, I am off to a coast to coast scenic drive of Barbados. I opted for this excursion because I wanted to take in as much as possible of the island's highlights.
After we boarded our air-conditioned mini bus, off we went through the center of Bridgetown. We saw sights such as Heroes Square and the Houses of Parliament. We then drove by the Lion at Gun Hill Signal ...
... is so beautiful. I just couldn't believe my surroundings. At the bottom of the ocean, the corals were spectacular. Words cannot describe beauty. You have to see it to believe it. What a fantastic experience that I am not about to forget soon.
After the snorkel off we went to another beach where we relaxed and swammed for a while before returning to the ship.
Thankful for snorkeling,
Mo
Bridgetown, Barbados matt13... of the day. A little further up the wooden roadside kiosks offered the fish for sale, either raw or they will fry it up for you. As we walked along the road, single file (for safety sake), like four children on a discovery journey, we spotted the blue bus zooming past us on the other side of the road. So we flagged down the driver and ran over to hop aboard. The ride into Bridgetown takes about 45 minutes. Keep in mind - we had no idea what stop to get off at. Arlette ...
Bridgetown, Barbados globetrotters... student governments at home. here, almost every guild event involves alcohol. the first thing the guide on the bus did once we sat down was ask who wanted a beer. then while everyone was eating at cheffette the guy went to the store and bought a bottle of rum and some coke to mix drinks for the ride back to campus. it's crazy: the school practically encourages students to drink! a few nights later, the guild sponsored a foam party which was, without going into any details ...
Bridgetown, Barbados bdaly334... local transport is great. Small mini vans which they try and pack as many people on as possible. We called them the doof doof bus as their music is deafening and the songs have lyrics like. "Yo ***** get out the way, get out the way *****, get out the way" This became a team anthem. Our record for passengers was 25 (there are 15 seats) Fingers sore, written to much. Thanks for your emails- will try and reply. Off to Jamaica so our bodies can recover Ash
