    ... kitchen and huge bedrooms with ensuites. Our morning drive took us through farming countryside and to Atlantic side with some dramatic coral coast line. As well as our small beach, just south of us is a gorgeous 2 km sand beach which we can walk to. Just off to Sharkys Bar to take in Super Bowl! We did get to see Murray vs Djokovic this am..

    ... Boatyard. It is a bar and restaurant recommended to us by several of the cruise ship crew. There we meet up with a couple of our friends and spend the afternoon eating burgers and drinking the local beer. The Boatyard charges $20 to get in but anything you eat and drink is applied toward the $20. So, basically, one hamburger and 3 beers and you've broke even. We recognize several ...

    ... what it must have been like some 500 years ago to sail on these same seas. It would have been much darker as there were probably just a few lanterns. It would surely have been much more quiet. Just the wind in the sails and the hull cutting through the sea. And probably most disturbing would have been the navigation devices. I feel much more "sure-footed" with all of the modern navigation devices.

The plane here was the actual one that Alvan would have seen, it was donated by the British Government in recognition of one of the more profitable routes it flew. I remember seeing it years ago flanked by the red arrows when it flew over home as part of the Coventry air show way back possibly in the early 80s.
