... little disappointing considering the Satsuma Clan's young students went abroad and gathered as much knowledge as they could and brought Japan forward 200 years ago..... but it seem is was a one way street..... only taking but nothing returning. The Museum does display with the Theme " The Meiji Restoration" the drastic movement away from the Satcho Alliance to the end of the Boshin Civil war and it displays the powerful activities of Satsuma before and after the Meiji ...

However, they did not know until days later that he was not speaking gibberish but that he was communicating and he knew exactly what to say.

In 2012, when I came to Japan with my mother, I had a chance to see my father after 27 years! The reunion was bittersweet because ...

... had received a great review from somebody on some website (probably Yelp or TripAdvisor). I pointed out that there was a great looking spot on the basement level of the very building we were in. Erika insisted on asking the concierge who said very convincingly in Japanese that the place in the basement was excellent and we should go there. Nice! She broke the tie and that's where we went. She was quite right, the meal was incredible and I've included several pictures for your enjoyment.
