An easy day for site seeing
Slept far more easily last night, having become far more accustomed to the noises of the plateau.
With no real plans we breakfasted and then went on tour - firstly to the church where Joseph was christened, then the windmills on the ridge overlooking the plateau and then to lunch by the big tree.

Day 99 - Elounda
Today was no more taxing than the past four, and the R&R has done us all the world of good. We again ventured out of our room at about 11am to a day which felt a lot hotter due to the lack of wind. We headed to the main beach and all had a swim to cool off after our walk. The most strenuous thing we did all day was to hire a pedal boat for an hour and all took turns providing the pedal power.

Day 98 - Elounda
... off. We retreated further along the waters edge and contented ourselves with snorkelling there. All of us saw what looked like parts of old columns so perhaps we did see some ruins after all.
Mikayla is a bit nervy with snorkelling – I don’t think she likes being taken by surprise when a fish suddenly enters her peripheral vision. Sarah, on the other hand would happily spend hours in the water. The visibility here is ...
