... especially now that I am listening to Ave Maria on my iPod - the song I want to be married on, It makes me feel so calm, so peaceful. There are no words.

In this hotel my family and another 3 foreign family were attacked by thief's over the last night just few hours to go home, I was more than disappointing about the security in this place, about the reaction of the authorities and also the attitude of the hotel manager. The police has no reaction and the hotel manager doesn't want to get in contact with me when I informed about the theft , latter one when I succeed to get his e-mail address he went to the Police ...
Hersonissos, Crete, Greece emilianmanda... the most we did is swim any where from 2 to 4 times a day. Jim and I got back into excercise, and the sweat rolls off as it is very hot here. Any exertion after 8am is too much to handle so I got up early and swam afterwards for a very nice workout involving the hills and the pool.
We also went down to the ocean to swim in the impossibly blue water. It is so easy to swim in the ocean!
... br> Another highlight was the palace of Knossos where we also learned several new things. This is the palace where the Minotaur, half man half bull, is said to lived in the palace's many roomed maze. Every year seven girls and seven boys from Athens were sent to Knossos for him to eat. What we learned is that life was probably very good in Knossos ( the first flush toilets in the world) . It was ...
Koutsounára, Greece njacklin... your socks off but it's a nice enough place..........the water is good......mountain views to boot......some excellent Cretan food (if you can find it)......book cafes........ generally a good place not to do much......but what saves Agios Nickolaus from it's fate as an anywhere Greek beach town is Yannis......a 25 year old rock institution..........and a dead set top contender for ...
Agios Nikolaos, Crete, Greece jamangie... to get us eating at there place. But thankfully they didn't - with exception of one, but you have that evrywhere, don't you? "Hello come into my restaurant. We sell nice food.. fish.. meat.." and they quote the whole menu to you while all you want to do is run away. So in our case not the best way to get us to eat there. That's sounds like rather childish behaviour of us if I read that :/
I just swollowed salt water *Yuck!* The sea was lovely though - many waves!
... apartement. But at last -we didn't think we would ever get there!- we arrived there and sat down exhausted, dripping with sweat, at the pool dipping our feet in the lovely cool water. I almost, almost, jumped in it with all my clothes on and all! After a few minutes Eve decided to get busy and clean the pool and tried to get bugs and leaves out of it with a fsihing net. When back at our aprtment we ...
Agia Pelagia, Crete, Greece belphoebe... Eve is more determined and says firmly 'no'. Despite that they are helpful pointing out the bus stop. We travel by bus to Heraklion center - buying a postcard for Tini and myself and thereby picking up the courage to aks the shop girl which bus we should take to Agia Pelagia. After discussing it with granddad she sent us along the road to the port bus station ...
Agia Pelagia, Crete, Greece belphoebeClimate is glorious. The ladies opted out of my excursion to the National Archaeological museum and don't seem to be even slightly regretful when I tell them about all the pottery, broken swords murals and descriptive text cards they missed wile slacking off on the beach among some pretty vile examples of why 200 pound women should not wear thong bathing suits on crowded beaches. From an aesthetic point of view, I urge you never ...
