... for a week or two would be fun, but who would really benefit from it? So I decided to use the time I have to better the world community and do some volunteer work. That sounds exceptionally cheesy, but I would much rather be helping out the long-term development in a country I have significant interest in than just frolick on a beach drinking way too much alcohol.

I had researched some volunteer gigs previously, just for loose ideas for ...

Ill write as soon as I know, but I think Ill be lounging around Scotland for two weeks while I get my ducks in a line. Aberdeen, Scotland, United Kingdom courtneynew... in a 30 ltr something backpack. The photo here is what I've settled on so far plus the camera (minus the router of course). One really important item i realized i've forgotten till today is toilet paper.Thats in the red and white plastic bag so easy for me to find in case of emergency. The string if you're wondering is in case I need to wash my own clothes so at least I have something to hang the clothes from. Also a mini french dictionary for Syria ...
Aberdeen, Scotland, United Kingdom desequerahI made it back to Stonehaven today. Amazingly, the sun was out in full force, a complete contrast from yesterday. I walked along the North Sea for a bit, enjoying a Cornish pasty, and then made the roughly three-mile hike up to Dunnottar Castle, also overlooking the sea. The hike was amazing, but largely uneventful. The photos say more than I could hope to.

I leave for the U.S. tomorrow morning around 8:30 a.m ...
Stonehaven, Scotland, United Kingdom joneswesl... example of a vice business operating inside what used to be a cathedral. It's really unusual.

I returned to the house, and Heather and Hannah (Heather's friend) explained to me that a typical Scottish Saturday involves going to the pub and socializing, watching sports, etc. We went to a pub and spent the afternoon doing The Times crossword puzzle. Not ...

They had SIC in the jukebox here again, so there must be people coming to see the show with anticipation :D

A nice lady from the bar washed all our dirty laundry we ...
Aberdeen, Scotland, United Kingdom phoinix... away. The Miners Gala is in full swing. Back at Simon's place, Peter has woken up, surprisinglky early for ythe fact that he was out pubbing late last night."Hey I hope your sleep did not get disturned!" "No mate, I didn't realize a thing, so drunk I was " I quickly pack, and meanwhile wait for the taxi that Si had ordered a couple hrs ago. Its late and the taxi hasn;'t come, so Peter gets ready to drop us,m when the taxi arrives. Simon piles in too and we ...
Aberdeen, United Kingdom martess... It was amazing, from a height so high with jagged cliffs and the ocean sided by rolling fields, we were on top of the world. We continued on the small path up the coast as Dunnottar castle appeared through the sun in the distance. The castle ruins were large, situated up high on what looks like an island but remains connected to the land at the base. Climbing up hundreds of stairs to the massive rocks summit, we ...
Aberdeen, United Kingdom jilliangwen... is a lot to do here - Highland scenery, a beautiful coastline and attractive towns and villages. Visiting the eight distilleries and cooperage on the Malt Whisky Trail, the Cashmere Visitor Centre, craft centres, castles & gardens and Baxters of Speyside. Play on championship golf courses, fish, sail, go dolphin watching or follow the Speyside Way footpath from the coast to the shadow of the Grampian Highlands. A few days is never ...
