They sold me raffle tickets with the prizes being a large punnet strawberries, a basket of asparagus and a bunch of roses...all at their peak right now.
I didn't win which is a shame as the all looked good.
A lot more useful too than that water bed Rick once won at a high school reunion event in Florida. Amazingly it was the prize for coming the furthest distance.

2 more sleeps in my own bed then, before I start having to share with one of The Chuckle Brothers. Must remember to pack my Chastity Belt!

Well, none of that came to pass.
As the very hour that I was beavering away at the library computer, Pickfords had lifted their game and were delivering our boxes to a very much-relieved Rick and neighbours.
By the time I got home (in a hail storm), Richard had already unpacked half of them, neatly folded the wrapping paper and the sky was beginning to brighten--as were our spirits.
So packing was a challenge, I wanted to pack light but it's bear impossible when you are doing as much as we are in one holiday. Camping for a start required a warm fleece, sleeping bag, torch etc none of which will be required in a fancy hotel in LA! In LA however there are pub crawls and fancy meals, none of which require a sleeping bag or torch!!
It too me a loooong time to pack but I managed to only pack 15.1kg... 1kg lighter than Dads I might add!! :) ...
... two locks, Hazel went to ASDA, while James continued up the locks by himself. He had reached lock 6 when he spotted Hazel crossing the bridge further back with four bags of shopping. He went back to help her, and discovered she had recruited a CRT lengthsman to help her carry the bags!
