... not to do another day at the Grand Canyon So we drove to Sedona, AZ this morning. It was an easy drive and well worth it. It's beautiful, seems to be a mix of the red rock formations of Utah that we liked but also very green in the surrounding areas. Our RV spot is the best we've had. We got settled and went to the Sedona golf resort this afternoon. We played 9 but were then rained out. We'll go back tomorrow! I could spend a week here easily. ...

... and then left for a hike at Mt. Washburn. As a wildlife preservationist, Ben knows a lot about the animals in the area, especially birds (which he studied in college and grad school). Both he and Chris had brought binoculars and a high-power scope which proved very useful on our hike. But before we even got to the hike, we got caught in a huge bison jam. Reason for trip was to visit Jake at Turning Point Centers. Arrived Sunday afternoon 6/8. Visited Jake at the center in Sandy, Utah during family visitation. Fantastic mountain and nature views. Lodging at Sheraton Salt Lake City. Monday am bike rental. Decadent waffle at Bruges Waffles and Frites. Followed the published city tour with extension up City Creek Canyon - 15.5 miles total. Nice swim in the Sheraton outdoor pool. Session with Jake and therapist ...

... memories we'll be making. I know nothing about digital cameras though, so this is pretty interesting. I've got a few ideas. I've also posted our TV in trade of a good digital camera so maybe I'll find something this way. Soon there will be pictures of our travels from the new camera! iPhone pictures just won't do justice for our travels.

Getting to PHX

... Scott and Audrey went to baggage claim to get our checked bags and recheck them with US Airways to Phoenix. I took all our carryons and the two little girls directly to our connecting gate so we wouldn't have to go through security again. When I spoke to the agent about adding Elyse as a lap child, she looked at the flight and was able to immediately clear all of us, so we were starting our trip on a very good note!
