... catch-up of family news over good food.

Then drove on across Dartmoor again. Stopped to climb to a Tor on Burrator Moor before driving to Lee Moor and on to Ivybridge.

Stayed again with Jenny and Rhidian, whom we stayed with in February. Another lovely night in front of a roaring fire with good food and lots of chatting. Great to see them ...

... Mother always took a cooked chicken with us on holiday, but as some of you well know, if we're travelling on a train, we'll have a chicken to munch on. ... Our stop for the night is near Dartmoor, just 50 miles away. However, it's far too early to stop driving so we hatch an audacious plan. Instead of a run across country to our hotel, we will make a dash for Lands End and then back up the peninsular - a mere 176 mile round trip. It means that we will have to miss two of our great sights in Cornwall, namely the Eden Project and St Michael's Mount, as it will be far too dark (and late) by the time we're in the vicinity. ...
