1862 David Low Way Coolum Beach, Queensland, Australia, (07)-5471-6666
After a very hectic week of work (well ok there was a wee bit of drinking in there as well!) I headed up the coast from Brisbane to Coolum Bay. It's about 1-1/2 hrs North of the city and is a really nice wee place. Think I probably didn't see the best of it as the clouds had moved in and weren't keen on moving but still a cool little town and stunning beaches. I moved myself into the Coolum Motel - not really more than a glorified bacpackers but compared to the other hotels in town it was ch...
Coolum Bay, Australia markgemmell... whilst Matt pottered around on his new BBQ.
We drove out to the Apollonian Hotel at Boreen Point a few kilometres north of Tewantin for a look at this historical pub, Greg enjoying a pint of Guinness that was on tap. We dream of buying this lovely old place – any excuse not to return home to our normal working life.

... school holidays here. Noosa is chockers, full of Melbournians seeking warm weather!
On Tuesday, The Corky’s and we are both setting up lodgings over at The Lavis’s new home, a 5 acre property in Cooroy with a pool. They have only just acquired the keys after settling Monday afternoon, but were keen to have us move onto the lawn next day as their container of furniture will not arrive for a week and we have more basic items than they do!
... once a box is completed and has been pushed away it continues on rollers behind to the stackers who assess its quality, close the lids and place on crates to be stacked, wrapped, chilled and transported. There you have it your first all inclusive melon packing lesson!! Sounds like fun doesn’t it? Try packing 4000 odd melons a day – your hands and every figure on them aches, your bulging biceps are burning and if you’re a stacker it’s your arms ...
Beerwah, Queensland, Australia travellingtoads... as you may have seen on TV appears to tease the crocs for the cameras. This isn't the reason, which is to make the reptiles work for their food both physically and psychologically. He aims to keep them mentally happy and dominate their territory like they would in the wild. The many crocs here were actually saved as they were to dangerous for man and themselves. The other major aim of Steve was education and awareness. He wanted to teach ...
Beerwah, Queensland, Australia ollieandmeals... Local gossip has it that the ship dumped its load to avoid rolling in the high stormy sea conditions; it will take a lengthy enquiry to sort this one out. Thank goodness for all the hundreds of volunteers who have helped the Parks, Marine and Wildlife people with the huge clean up. Meanwhile back in Mooloolaba the rains tumble down, AR's cover are still off, she is getting drenched and MrJ and me are stuck inside for most of the second half of the week. Somewhere in ...
Brisbane, Queensland, Australia nancyjean... about them and then walked through a bit of the zoo where they just hang out. Here, again, you can walk up and stroke them and take photo's - it was brill. All the time, there are carers just hanging around, out of the way, just making sure the animals are OK. This is just so different from Shanghai zoo where no-one seemed to give a toss about whether the animals were being upset by the human visitors. We also saw our old friends the Asian Elephants again ...
Beerwah, Queensland, Australia vickersontourClare has given me firm instructions to update this thing! not too sure what im doing but not to worry. Its been a hectic few weeks and a pain that cant find an internet cafe with machines that take SD cards from the camera. We have some great pics !- honest Brisbane was just another city, but it had a huge park complete with jungle and beach ! It didnt take long for Max the beach bum to bare all (again) and head straight for the water. He was quite brave and went waist deep which ...
Surfers Paradise, Queensland, Australia rcmes_123... weather was completely different to our last visit - warm and sunny. Loads of people there - surfing. Then went to the Sydney Botanic Gardens - seemed like a normal garden until we came upon several trees containing bats - they were making a heck of a row.... Would have hated to go through there at night. Also, the spider webs there are amazing - instead of a single web that we have in the UK, it is an intracate 3D construct - the spiders are huge..... Wednesday 5 ...
Noosa, Australia lionelandsueOne of the cafes downtown puts out a bowl of cereal every morning for the lorikeets to come eat out of - we got to watch them as we were eating breakfast today. From there we took the ferry down the Noosa River - a wide river that runs parallel to the coastline and is popular with Australian vacationers for ...
