Great views across Haad Salad Bay, large room and bathroom, lovely bigwindows so as you wake up the view is spectacular and great balcony with hammok. Food is good and reasonable price and resort is quiet with some cheap food outlets and beach bars.

    Diving on Turtle Island

    Dear Bev,

Spent a week on Koh Tao with the crazy people from Liquid Lounge Hostel on Koh Samui. A couple of us got our open water diver's certification and one went on to get her advanced. I fell in love with Koh Tao (turtle island)

We had made reservations at a hostel called Taco Shack through the hostelworld app. It was close to the pier and Sairee Beach, which had most of the 40-something dive schools on the island. Since we needed ...

... the dive. To me there's something so freeing about scuba diving and the more I learn about it and the more I dive the more hooked I get. I was gutted when we had to come up from the second dive but glad we had such a good group. Back on the boat we disassembled our gear as we headed back to shore and then got back on to the long tail boat. We had a couple of hours break for lunch before going back in the classroom for the afternoon. I found it much more interesting the ...

... Birth is a beginning. Death is a destination'. We spent a few more days on the island; partying on a boat, swimming in a waterfall, drinking an excess of vodka buckets, playing darts and pool and relaxing on a beach, but we felt this was enough and wanted to move onto Koh Tao to try out some SCUBA Diving. Throughout the time spent here, I realised that the island survives on these moon party things and between these events, it does not seem attractive to tourists. I ...

    Koh Tao

... we know his secret! On the way back we drove through the famous Sairee Beach, it looked quiet and Clive explained that the recent murder of two English tourists had had a massive impact on the island and they were now doing less than 600 visits a day compared to 4000 before the incident. It was really sad to talk about, I just hope they get justice! We arrived at the resort, and even though it was dark I could just tell it was amazing! We sat and had tea with the couple we met ...

... the end. I cleaned the newly exposed wound with the last of the saline solution and dropped a splash of the IPA on it for good measure. I know it's not ideal to use IPA on an open wound but I wanted to make sure. I applied a generous glug of Betadiene and then taped my foot up with the sterile dressing. Six weeks on, I'm looking at my toe and it's as if nothing happened at all. Completely recovered. Maybe I'm in the wrong line of ...
