Great views across Haad Salad Bay, large room and bathroom, lovely bigwindows so as you wake up the view is spectacular and great balcony with hammok. Food is good and reasonable price and resort is quiet with some cheap food outlets and beach bars.

      No full mooning for us...

... we drove through to pirates diving. We then drove down to the pier, after stopping to get some fried doughballs for breakfast, a bit like vetkoek. We got to sail rock at 9:30. I opted for the snorkelling. It was quite rough and visibility wasn't very good, so 40 mins later I was back on the boat. B sort of enjoyed his diving although he didn't see to much. Our hope was to come across a whale shark as there had been a few sightings..no such luck. We had some lunch ...

... and third dive the boat took us to the Japanese garden (dive site) and Twins (dive site), with another instructor, Nicky couldn't finish the course with us because of circumstances. Diving is quite an exercise, due to this we spend the night, relaxing with some good food.
The last (fourth) day we had our theoretical exams and two dives at the Sail rock (dive site) up to 18 meter deep. It took two hours to get to Sail rock, because the morning dive usually ...

... next dives in place. It was awesome.

Ko Tao is beautiful. I will say it can get a bit touristy in some parts, but if you just soak in the peace and beauty then you will love its remote feel. There is a resort section, a diving section, and a night life/food section of the island. Of course all very close as it is small like most coastal islands in Thailand. Travel is by motorbike or local taxi. There can be some issues like mosquitoes, sand flies (they got ...

... was funny actually, everyone wanted sleep or to just chill. The deck of the boat was soaked and in the sun but there was a small area inside with a tv and aircon. I just laid on the floor, a guy put a film on then demanded we all paid 30baht, everyone said no. He told us all to leave, there were just over 50 of us and we all said ...

... 8216;done things’ in the travelling world. Maybe that’s why we weren’t that fussed and was slightly put off. However Koh Tao proved its worth. The sunsets were ridiculous, diving pristine, nightlife plentiful and there were no groups of rowdy English as we thought might be the case. We can defiantly see what the hype is all about now surrounding Thailand’s Islands. We almost regret the fact that we have such little time on ...
