Great views across Haad Salad Bay, large room and bathroom, lovely bigwindows so as you wake up the view is spectacular and great balcony with hammok. Food is good and reasonable price and resort is quiet with some cheap food outlets and beach bars.

... off?" is as typical as "Sawadee".

BARS: Aside from Coral Bungalows and the bars on Haad Rin beach there is a dingy but friendly bar called 'Purple Haze' at the foot of Shroom mountain. Say "Sawadee" to Sam the owner who is frequently found showering with a hose pipe in front of his bar. It epitomises laid back, relaxed, a strange (probably false) sense of security and some naughty drinks.

... t right. Last night it was packed with people, every bar was full and music was playing, tonight the music seemed quieter and there wasn't even half as many people on the beach. We sat and had food but all of us felt un easy the entire time, just replaying the night before, where we'd been and the what ifs. Chesca and Jordan left after food as they had somewhere to be. Matty and I sat there for about 10 minutes and both said it was time to leave as we didn't feel right been down ...

... make the dive but I stuck right next to a dive master (professional) the whole time - basically holding his hand! Hahaha. You have to do 5 adventure dives to get your advanced qualification, so we did a deep dive (30m) to see if you experience nitrogen narcosis, a navigation dive using a compass, a night dive, a shipwreck and fish identification. And you get to do a lot of it by yourself too, just you and your buddy. The night dive was insane! You dive with ...

Woke up and checked out of the hotel. There was this ceremony outside where a woman was possessed by a spirit where she was crying. We then took the bus to the ferry. At the ferry station we got a bite to eat and got a cheese burger but ended up having a cheese sandwich cause apparently a Thai cheese burger consists of cheese and bread... Got onto the ferry and fell asleep for a couple of hours. Arrived at Koh Tao and arrived at Seashell ...

... a few years ago we would have joined them!

We took a trip into town and found a bar that sold boerewors rolls and Savannah cider (2 South African favourites). It might have been before noon, but it would have been unpatriotic not to indulge ourselves! We also found the most amazing restaurant, 'I love Salad', which became our regular.

It was New Years Eve, so we organised some drinks and snacks for ourselves, which we thoroughly enjoyed ...
