I suck at this. I'm a day behind but anyway.... Yesterday was a free day in Florence. We got panoramic pictures of the city and they are amazing. Early start as long day planned and it is best to be looking for a hostel by about 6. Means if it doesn't work out I still have time to get out of the village/town and find somewhere to camp before it gets dark at 7.

... looks like Tom Hanks is reprising the role of Robert Langdon starting in the fall.) We then had tickets to see Michelangelo's David at the Accademia. The statue is phenomenal and Michelangelo really did make a masterpiece. The Accademia is also filled with religious icons and works dating back to the 1300's. ... attire was begging nearby and she tried to get donations from a tour group but their Guide positioned himself between her and the group, so she gave up. There were also a couple of Accordion players who played for a few minutes and then came around with their hand out. I told one of them “I’m occupied” as I was in the process of putting food in my mouth at the time, and I was quite annoyed at being interrupted.

Mystery solved, Daniel led us on a private tour of the hotel while our room was prepared. The hotel's rooms occupy the fourth and fifth floors but it's the sixth floor that took our breath away with its panoramic views over Florence's roof ...
