Today we had reserved seats for a day trip into the Tuscan countryside to visit the small town of San Miniato with the same tour guide who had taken us on a walking tour of Lucca a few days ago. It so happened that four other people had booked the trip also, so we traveled in a small minibus with a professional driver at the wheel, while our tour guide rode shotgun and offered her running commentary as we departed from just outside ...

Once I got back, I read a few chapters of my book (which I am not enjoying whatsoever but feel obligated to finish) and went running. ... we went as the gap between the domes got smaller and smaller until finally we reached the last set of very steep steps. The view was pretty amazing but we didn't stay up there too long because it was very windy. After that we spent the rest of our day hanging out around town checking out some less famous sites. I loved Florence for its beauty and it's history! It's one of Elliot's favorite cities too. The icing on the cake was the drive home through the Tuscan mountains as the sun was ...
