... it is how things should work. Of course there is potential for abuse from both sides. I´ve heard plenty of bad stories, and certainly have my own from my horrible host in Portugal. I´ve had hosts complain about lazy WWOOFers, and I´ve heard WWOOFers claim they work too hard, and aren´t fed enough,
At the other end of the scale, when things are at their best, is the best form of tourism I can imagine. My best host in Japan was ...
... For varieties sake frog legs and squid made an appearance at the bottom of the menu. So I ordered pig and tomatoes or something. We sat down to some beers and a small plate of pumpkin seeds while we waited for our food to arrive. A short while later our server came back to inform us that the kitchen had run out of something, though I couldn´t discern whether it was pig or tomatoes. I changed my order, , and she took it to the kitchen.

We searched the streets for good food and internet. Both were located due to Corrine's Spanish abilities, again I congratulated myself on choosing such a good travel partner. Badajoz had nothing special about it, but people were friendly, food was good, and prices were fair. I was happy. I suppose one really has to decide what they´re looking for from a travel experience, but for me, I much ...
... fig, citrus, quince, and a lone pomegranate tree that produces the sweetest pomegranates in Spain. There´s a nice little vineyard, that likely keeps them self sufficient when it comes to wine consumption. It is basically the end of the gardening season here, but cabbages and greens are still being planted. Cape Gooseberries grow like a weed here, its amusing, considering they cost an arm and a leg for a small carton back home.

In between our first two and last two days in Lisbon we spent about 6 days in the Algarve at a very nice resort. Very relaxing and lots of sun to be had. We also got to eat piri piri chicken every night which made up for the lack of Oporto in Lisbon. The Algarve will definitely be a highlight of the holiday as it is where we got engaged! Very exciting! Enjoy the pictures of us flouncing. Next stop: Morocco.
Algarve, Portugal peterebeccaThe Land Rover crew - now in four sharing the shrinking space inside Monty: Claire, Ada, Ale the dancer and I - finally leaves Casa Banderas in the early afternoon, and we start what will turn out to be a very long day on the road. We wanna arrive at the entrance of the Boom Festival site by nightfall, so that we can start to queue before the gates officially open tomorrow. We join the already ...
