We went and got our NYC Pass and then took a walk from penn station all the way up Broadway back to our hotel (about 30 blocks ) stopping at a lot of shops along the way. Including the m&m's world, the Disney store and numerous cloths stores to try and find Crowdy a longer jacket and just to have a look. Along the way we stopped in at Times Square. Can you believe we were in ...

... and it only seemed appropriate to start where Macauley Culkin finished. We also quickly found The Plaza Hotel at the end of Fifth Avenue- which to James' dismay we weren't staying at on our backpacker budget- but we did enjoy a warm lunch in its' backpacker priced basement food hall along with its' Christmas tree in the front lobby. Despite not venturing past 3 degrees Celsius during our week in NY it was lovely to be in the city for the lead up to Christmas. All of ...

They sell assorted cereal themed treats (like milk steeped in cereal dust) and something called "crack pie". We grabbed a slice of that and headed to Central Park for a walk. As we sat in the shade watching all the sweaty foreigners stroll by, we agreed that that damn pie is indeed crack. Mmmm. Spent the ...

Hailed a taxi back to the hotel $9. The hotel has a bar and courtyard on the first floor. We bought 2 big glasses of Coke Zero for $12 and headed up to bed. Despite the fact that the bar was really jumpin we could not hear anything from our room on the 9th floor. Did a bit of blog, downloaded the pics and into bed about 11.30 feeling pretty good considering we had been up for 20 hours.
