So it's the day of the long awaited trip and I have to be proud of the fact that I am sticking with traditional Gabe fasion, of course I mean by waiting till minutes before my trip to finish my packing. Its 5 hrs and 32 mins until its wheels up and we are on our way to the "Emerald Isle". Honestly I am more excited and anxious about this trip than I was about my 30 day Europe tour. Im gonna guess and say that its because I ...
Richmond, Kentucky, United States gfunk576... br>So we begun our trip today at 4:30 AM from PeeWee Valley, KY. We're driving straight through all states towards Florida. All 14 or so hours. How exciting!? Actually not that exciting. We were smooth sailing through Kentucky with no problems. We stopped in mine and Diana's favorite city. Rich-City (Richmond), Kentucky for some breakfast at Waffle House.

< br>
Richmond, Kentucky, United States breezyfresh... the world (for a lesson on the making of bourbon see the photos!). The tour was great and we were able to sample their final product at the end of the tour (of course this was a highlight, and Adam felt he needed a bottle- for purely scientific purposes of course....) Upon leaving the distillery we realized we hadn't eaten all day so we headed for some grub in Lexington. We happened ...
Lexington, Kentucky, United States sarah.scampiniWe took off with the fifth wheel up to Lexington, KY, where we would see some champion horses at Juddmonte Farms. That evening, when we got in to Lexington, we checked in at the RV park at the Kentucky Horse Park. It's quite a nice area. Then we went and ate at Bob's Big Boy, where Ashley had (what else??) a bacon cheeseburger! ;-)

On Saturday morning, we started the day off in fine Southern ...
Lexington, Kentucky, United States semitte... paddocks, stone fences, waterfalls, flowers and go over stone bridges before terminating at a mansion having scenic overlooks. Many "dry" stone fences are several miles long. While driving this very narrow tree covered Pike full of twists and curves, some of the hills are so abrupt that you'd probably get airborne if you drove at 100kph. None-the-less, its beautiful scenery fulfilled our images of Kentucky. Visited: · Downtown Lexington - Not much has changed since ...
Lexington, Kentucky, United States jimcabay... shot down and twenty minutes later, the second tower was hit. At the time, he was too busy diverting all USA bound aircraft to Canadian airports and landing all other aircraft currently in US airspace ..... anywhere and NOW!!! Observed: · The houses in new subdivisions are built with the same dark-red colored brick so it looks like a military base. Not very appealing. · The dirt is only 6" deep, the rest is solid limestone. · Most of the barns are painted black!!! Things ...

Mount Sterling, Kentucky, United States marijkaOkay, so months of research, reading and planning (plus an upper respiratory infection), and it's finally time to go! What started as "I've always wanted to see the Grand Canyon" has grown into a 10-state tour. I mean, why drive all that way and not see everything else? There's a lot of country between Kentucky and Arizona, flat and ...
Mount Sterling, Kentucky, United States marijka... a deer. At one point, driving along the Interstate, I spot a large, dead animal on the edge of the right-away. Two men in hunting gear are sprinting from their SUV towards the creature. I assume they didn't kill it but just want to claim it for their own ...
Lexington, Kentucky, United States ahartry... in the states. He was unsure returning to CM by himself but hey you have to learn sometime. I gave him my map & we said our good-byes. I started heading down to Mae Hong Son & stopped at a rocking pit stop area for a pee break. Sure enough the Thai Tourist Police stops. Two girls get out of the SUV & asked if I was ok + lots of questions about me being alone on big bike, do I feel safe, blah, blah. I told them how my friend was on his way back to CM that he's never been in Thai ...
