Our first stop on the road to South America was an overnight in Dallas, Texas on Spencer's B-day. So, I scouted out a famous BBQ place that was close to the airport and our hotel - Hard Eight Texas BBQ was it! We ordered a tray of meat - seriously. ... would never have believed it, but the place is full of Cowboys!!! Some of the stuff in the shops is very kitsch but they do really wear all the gear and the Rodeo that we went to was real, with real Cowboys competing against each other.......but I am getting ahead of myself.
