This weekend my host mom took me to their summer house in Bastad, Skane, Sweden. This is in Southern Sweden, extremely close to Denmark. Oliver had a tennis camp and Lisa wanted to go to a famous museum in Denmark.

The car drive from Malmö to Torekov took a little more than an hour. We departed a few minutes after 8 am. From Torekov Harbor we had to take a short boat ride to the island. Then off we went hiking, packed with water and lunchboxes ;)

The town of Torekov itself consists of three shops and four restaurants, it is charming, but bring cash before you come because they don't have a bank or an ATM.

... Helsingborg is closest to Denmark and every 20 minutes car and passenger ferries cross Oresund strait to Helsingor. Its a good and cheap option for crossing between Sweden and Denmark and I guess the only option until the Oresund bridge was built. Four km across the strait you can see Hamlet's Elsinore castle ( Kronoborg castle) at Helsingor.

After lunch we headed up the coast via Tylosand. Tylosand is a 6km sandy beach which would be gorgeous ...

The weekend has been so relaxing! It's my first time to go to a Spa-hotel and I thought it was liberating to be able to go around wearing robes ;) massage, gym, sauna+freezing cold ocean+hot tub, swimming pool and the food was delish... I really have no complains at all!
