      Felling flowers

A travel blog entry by roundaboutus on Apr 11, 2015

I pulled on thick protective trousers, zipped up the back, my hot black anorak, the straps and thick chainsawing gloves...brush cutting here we come. I love the repetitive swing of the machine, it's high pitched whine and the satisfaction of felling triffids! Aubons (porrasa) are about 4' high. If you've not already glued your mouth shut with all that pastry you can then tuck into dry pastry biscuits cut into hearts or stars, about half an inch thick! Dress code for tonight's dinner is Black & White night. ...

We finally reached the castle-- I don't know how exactly we found it without a map, but whatever-- and saw the gorgeous view of Palma from above. Now we've both shown each other castles. :)

After the castle, which didn't really take that long, we decided to go back into the nature reserve ...

      Our Day at Sea

The harbor at Sicily is like a picture with the hills surrounding Messina and a statue high on a pedestal welcoming ships over the hundreds of years in the long history of the harbor. We leave the shelter of the harbor and head into the rough seas in front of us. The weather has stayed rather on the cool side but we venture up on deck for a game of pool and ...
