          This morning we catch a train to Parma--of cheese and prosciutto fame. It's about an hour's ride from Bologna.           ... the local town of Salsomaggiore which is a spa town with the original huge bath house as a major structure in the centre of the town.

          We we also visited local Castillos at Arquato and Vigoleno. These were both small historical cities with fortifications rather than castles but very interesting and some amazing buildings.

          ... lots of traditional Italian buildings. Lucy and Katie started to show signs of hunger halfway through the tour becoming focused on finding a supermarket instead of paying attention to Emma's tour! There was the worrying risk of them becoming grumpy so we gave up the search for a supermarket and had to settle with a cafe. it was a good find actually.
