After lunch, Joy went back to the Duomo (and photos of dogs!) while Michael simply strolled around. Very relaxing. ... shop for underwear in Yamamay! They grizzle at each other, they growl, they ignore, they whine.... They prance, they drag their feet, they amble and loll, they patiently wait, they ask 'can we go now?', they can be an unhappy fella, they pee, they c**p..... They are a status symbol, a loved companion, a way of meeting people.....they are Parma's dogs!

Most of the paintings in this little gallery were by bodies not on Joys lists, although some of them have now been added to those lists. But, although being able to get close to the paintings here too, nothing seen here came quite as close in wow factor as that lovely little drawing ..... La Scapiliara.
... at night, so you really have to watch for them. Dogs are a different issue. About one person in three walking the streets of Parma has a dog with them, and these are highly strung pedigree breeds too. Many are the very small breeds, and in this cold weather most are covered with great little jackets. Joy photographed many of them, and plans to do a theme blog on the dogs of Parma. Hmm, have to wait and see if she is barking up the wrong tree with that ...
As I was heading South East towards Bergamo and Brescia I wanted to avoid Milano and Verona and head South towards Parma. That made me hungry. But with a midday siesta on a Sunday options were limited and I decided not to spend time looking for something and just wait until I passed a café or other place to eat.
I did have around 500 kilometers to drive to be able to make it to Pisa, and with a few possible wrong turns ahead I just pressed on. ...
