    A Beautiful Resort in Seminyak

A very enjoyable stay. The staff are exceptional, the rooms are lovely and the Resort is very comfortable with beautiful gardens, furnishings and surroundings. There is a travel bureau which offers a wonderful, friendly service, a pool bar where they play bingo at 6pm every night with 3 prizes given- usually a pizza voucher, free drink and a spa treatment. It's a fun way to meet other people. The breakfasts are wonderful with so much on offer for every taste. The resort itself is only a few minute walk to the beach with all it's wonderful beach bars. Also right in the heart of shopping, restaurant district so is perfectly located. I would definitely stay there again and highly recommend it to anyone who wants a lovely resort in Seminyak.

Up this morning after a little mishap at 2.30am with an alarm and then a broken flower bowl. Out the balcony door and into the pool. Brekkie was nice. Then walk down the street for some shopping stopping for a coffee on the way, Massages at 12.30 at Carla spa. Heaven. Very late lunch. Then bingo by the pool bar. Sharyl won a dessert and Marco a …

As the penultimate stop on our journey, we decided that we were going to treat Bali as more of a relaxing holiday destination than perhaps some of the truer back-packing we've embraced over the preceding six months. Our time in Bali was split between two areas, Seminyak and Ubud. Seminyak is a beach town with lots of nice bars and restaurants - mostly recommended by Adam's former colleague, Graeme (thanks again). I'd love to tell you that we spent our time here on adventures and ...

    Goodbye Bali, hello Gili Islands

... here the reflections were beyond description. Utterly awe inspiring. The Islands are small so when I get to each one, the mission is to walk the entire circumference. I did that on Gili Trawangan yesterday and Gili Meno today. Parts of the island are completely void of people. Maybe the odd walker here and there, but most people seem to stay on the beaten track. The lack of people on sections of the walk makes it feel like a castaway ...

... place with a huge garden and a stone throw from the beach. Nusa Dua itself was a ten minutes drive away, the whole area is basically a huge neighbourhood of expensive landscaped resorts, lining the south east coast. The area has been built to provide theatres, museums, private beaches for a high end price giving tourists everything they would need for their holiday. I personally didn't like Nusa Dua, as with other areas that have been purely developed for ...
