Jalan Abinmanyu 66, (formerly Contiki Resort Bali) Seminyak, Bali, Indonesia, 62-361-730-573-
I've been here 5 days now, staying at the Contiki Resort- probably the most luxurious place I've stayed in, and makes a welcome change from all the $5 a night guesthouses. I've been mostly relaxing by the beach and pool here, not doing too much culturally, as I feel I need a break from the constant traveling around- Not that you will have much sympathy with me! I've met some great people here again- mostly Aussies, who treat this as their version of Spain! Contiki only allows people between 1...

Seminyak, Bali, Indonesia carlaandmike... sky scraper with incredible views) for a couple of drinks as it was our last night with Angelina. At the airport the following day Jess got a wheelchair which meant we jumped all the queues and got through immigration in record time. It was almost worth the injury... Ta ha... Jess got so bored waiting for me to write the blog she actually started writing (the above) as if it was me writing :)... but she forgot to put in the usual spelling mistakes... so back to me ...
Denpasar, Bali, Indonesia jessjamie... style bread, Made uses half his butter to moisten. Was like comedy mime only without the hilarity that so often accompanies those bastions of silent comedy. A highlight of the tip for me was the announcement that the plane was approaching Singapore and would be landing shortly would we please fasten all seatbelts, etc. As well as shaking me out of my semi-hypnotic daze it left me wondering where on my itinery Singapore had been mentioned... I was booked onto flights ...
Seminyak, Bali, Indonesia ifanabroad... expats. Most of the Indonesians are not prepare for the run. They start out in a sprint and lose energy shortly after the first block. It makes me feel like a "fast" runner because I am passing people left and right. The race is just a square around Kuta. The sights are OK, nothing that I haven't seen by just walking around. They can't actually stop traffic, so as I am running there is traffic zipping by me. I am used to this ...
Kuta, Bali, Indonesia nprivette... many ways! So my last night, Hanneke and I had a late dinner. After we found her a new place to stay and transported our bags (via bike of course) to her hotel, took us a while as we had to take a few trips - 2 of us, 2 big backpacks and 2 small bags just wouldn't all fit at once. We tried to do it Asian style as i'm sure the locals would've had no problem but let's face it but we're just some small-time white girls...haha. I tried to ...
Seminyak, Bali, Indonesia tracymiller... visit a plantation. They grow coffee, tea, spices, and different fruit. All are on display and we happily try everything. We sample hand rolled cigerattes, several types of fruit and coffee, hot chocolate, tea, and something called Luwak coffee. Kopi Luwak or Civet coffee is coffee made from coffee berries which have been eaten by and passed through the digestive tract of a cat like animal, the Asian Palm ...
Ubud, Indonesia travel_buddy... a boat, not only that but the staff all wear sailor outfits, there's a bar, a karaoke bar, a live band room and a club, AND when you leave in the wee hours you get touched up by prostitutes, fan-tastic. This isn't the last entry by the way so stay tuned, although it;s our last "new" destination there's another one, it's complicated, think of it as a secret track on a n album you have to listen to silence for 5 mins to get too. Only it's not ****. Waffle waffle waffle
Kuta, Bali, Indonesia formzee... I mean cabaret show on tonight!' he announced with a smile. We ordered standard Indonesian fare of chicken curry in coconut and gado gado, deliciously consumed. As I looked up from my meal, I saw a vision in while glide into the restaurant and start kissing, hugging and shaking all the clients' hands. He was dressed in a long flowing bussle-less 1900s dress, long sleeves and a shawl, buttoned to the neck ...
Seminyak, Indonesia robinred... and took us back into Ubud, where we wandered around the front of the market for a bit (we simply didn't have the energy to go any further in at that point) and then went, on a recommendation, to Casa Luna for something to eat. It's owned by a western woman and her Balinese husband, the food was great, and the service wonderful. Okay, so it wasn't like eating at a warung (the local roadside stands), but I am deathly allergic to seafood and given the language barrier (and yes, I ...
