      ... headlands, pure white sandy bays and turquoise waters. Norries Head in particular was spectacular. The kids enjoyed wading across the river mouth to the sandbar and on the one day of poor weather we traipsed off to Springbrook National Park where we saw yet more beautiful and dramatic rainforests, mountain ranges and waterfalls.       ... the way down to the lake at the back, down ramps and steps and dirt track. He smiled all day though, and by the time he left later in the afternoon he had quite a bit bricked up.

      Early afternoon we all went down to Sanctuary Cove and had lunch at George's Seafood Restaurant, overlooking the marina with its flashy motor yachts. The meals and the service and the company were excellent, so we spent a very enjoyable couple of hours there.

      A little side note: On the Gold coast trip and this Byron bay trip, I picked up this habit of saying "Autobots, Roll out!" (from the movie Transformers) when we're ready to leave the hostel/hotel room for the day/night. I can't tell you why I decided to, but it was too fun to only do it once.
