So, not much has happened since my last email. I went on an excursion to the old Synagogue in Essen. I have a photo of it from my first day in Essen. I called it the Dome Kirche! Whoops. I should have called it the Dome Synagogue! Oh well.

... This weekend coming is the free weekend. I am visiting Cori on Friday and staying over in Lauterbach. Then Sat I am going to Rothenburg, one of the prettiest and oldest villages in Germany, and from there to Wurzburg (they are the start of the Romantic strip of Germany). Sunday night I will head back to Essen.
And guess what? In 4 weeks today I am going to be back in the land of Aus!

... But I still went. From Essen we had to catch an incredibly cramped bus to Duisburg and then from there we had to wait for over 30 mins for a train to Düsseldorf. Whilst there we walked to the Altstadt, that I have visited previously, took a stroll along the Rhein and had some lunch. Essen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany sarah.... created out of the buildings of an old industrial factory. There were different rooms with different kinds of music. it turned out to be a great night, but yet again we were late getting into bed.
Saturday we were supposed to go on an excursion to see Burg Linn (a castle) but unfortunately because of the storm, the trains weren't running.

Don"t know if u have heard or not, but Germany is in the middle of a hurricane. 150km winds and severe warnings from the government to stay indoors. It was supposed to hit Essen really hard and we were all sent home from uni early and told to stay indoors. I really wanted to go online today to talk to u all like I said I would. Sorry guys!! ... t even a dip section here in supermarkets. There is only a MASSIVE cheese section with over 120 different types and an equally MASSIVE cold meat section with all of the Wursts. Keep in mind that the Germans eat both of these things twice a day on bread rolls, breakfast and dinner are often the same ingredients... It was a great dinner and thoroughly enjoyed by all.

... We discussed the WiWi party that was on that night. (WiWi stands for Wirtschaft wissenschaft, in other words business studies, a faculty at uni) I went back to my room and wrote out all of my Backbeat lines, cleaned up a bit and then dressed up to go out to the party.
