    Woke to a better day and walked the short distance to the Hop on Hop off bus stop. Spent the first couple of hours on the blue route which took us around the back of Table Mountain past the Botanic Gardens and the Costancia Vineyards down to Hout Bay and back past beautiful white sand beaches with churning sea and huge granite rocks.     ... bring some hot and cold items for us as well as tea and coffee. I decided to have the hotel’s special blend which had a hint of rose at the end. The tea and coffee seemed to be taking a while – or maybe it was just me - and Doug didn’t want to help himself at the buffet so I got some items for the two of us.

    What to choose ??? So much !! I avoided to large cake items such as the triple later red velvet cake as well as the cheese ...

    ... pikies - translates to tortoise as that's what they look like) which are sheep liver wrapped in fat and bbq'd. Mike was in love. I tried them, and they were actually delicious. But very rich so I wouldn't be able to eat much. Dinner all around was amazing. The steak basically melted in your mouth, Bonnie made gem squash which were really good.     ... the most unusual mating call the entire time. We saw dung beetles and watched them create perfect spheres out of rhinoceros poo and use those balls for nesting. We stopped to allow tiny tortoises to safely cross the road in front of us. Everything became such a spellbinding treat.

    I must admit, I cried when we left. The quiet and wonder of the park is so unique. I will treasure my memories until the next time we return!

    ... taxi was just awesome because of the views. So much ocean and so many mountains ! I am looking forward to climbing table mountain and also doing muizenberg mountain for sunrise Today was great because we became more independent. We caught taxis, we were tourists and we saw some of Africa! We're feeling less like new kids now :) and I'm feeling like were really in Africa now! Love love love you all Bmag out . Peace ...
