Davids Entry – 28th July 09…… Wellington to Brisbane, AustraliaI'm typing this on my new "e-book" PC, mid flight from Wellington to Brisbane.…It's a little small for my chubby fingers but excellent for this kind of thing..Shame I cant also post it from here..
I did actually fall asleep the night before we took off…Surprisingly heavy sleep for about 5 hours which wasn’t bad for me even on a normal day…But it wasn’t our normal alarm that aw...
Jills Entry - 28th July 1st Day of the Holiday - The Long trip to the Gold Coast Its always an interesting time getting off a plane and wondering if this will be the day they decide that you look suspicious and you will hear the slap of a rubber glove on skin....but we flew through customs even the dog sniffing us was only thinking "1 x dog, 2 x cats, 0 x drugs" it should go without saying that we don't actually ever carry or do drugs...but always on your mind are the people who say that the ...
Brisbane, Queensland, Australia dinziezDavid's Entry - 29th July Day 2 – Fruit Bats and Driving Through Brisbane. As you may have read in Jill’s entry we discovered that the driving here in and around Brisbane to be noticeably more stressful in a number of ways … The drivers here are far more aggressive.. Using your indicators has an effect of heightening the other drivers aggression.. They will do anything to ensure you do not change lanes or directions as indicated … God help you if you find yourself in t...
Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia dinziez(A note before I begin: I don't think that I've sent this to all family and friends, so if you know of anyone who might be interested in the blog, please send it along.) It's been a couple days since I last posted a blog, due to limited (cheap) access to the internet. I'll try to catch up now that I'm in front of a computer. Thursday, the 13th of December, was the day we left Kenmore and headed south to the Gold Coast. This would be our first day without relatives and so we intended to find a...

... the lounge. It also has a washing machine and dryer so I was able to do some laundry. Headed back over to Pacific Fair where I spent the afternoon, getting lost several times. :L I got chatting to some lovely assistants in shops. The australian people are so genuinely friendly that you always finds someone to have a chat to no matter how random! Walked along ...
Broadbeach, Queensland, Australia anniebanany... we would see HUNDREDS of them flying around and they must have had a wing span of at least 1.5 ft. It was like I was in a Halloween movie or something! On day three, Amy and I went to Warner Brothers Movie World, one of the many big theme parks on the Gold Coast. It was pretty fun since I hadn't been to a theme park like that since I was pretty young. The Superman ride was by far the best, a rollercoaster that went ...
Surfers Paradise, Australia jamierb... parade speed and has to keep stopping, then burning down the road to catch up. Thankfully my aching back holds up while it's battered about on the rollercoasters for a second time. On leaving the Lethal Weapon ride for the second time, I realise that the beat-up car out front is actually the car that was driven through a skyscraper in Lethal Weaon 4 so I have to get my picture taken with it. Then on the way out, Lisa gets an Ice-Cream while I treat myself to ...
Kirra Beach, Australia richard_x_brown... old friend the Marriott Hotel and booked in for a night of luxury. Arrived around lunchtime and checked in. Went for a good walk around the main centre and along the beach. Nick was now itching to get cracking on his surfer course, so I left him for a couple of hours to have a walk around town. After all this excitement we fancied having a few beers and to see if we could get back on the lady trail. Found the main strip with ease, and ...
Sydney - Brisbane, Australia tonyjnorman... the hostel socialising and making an effort with people that I'd never even look at back home. I'd already arranged the week before to work back at the tower block that I worked at last Friday, so I got an early night. I arrived at work on time for 9am and was busy all day, the head chef is sport mad and it wasn't long until he said "are you getting nervous yet about the stuffing your boys are going to get when they come over here". For some reason I retaliated in a friendly banter ...
Brisbane, Australia bluenoseontourWell, today is the last day with the group. I'm not sad, it was fun while it lasted, as Sara would say, it was real it was fun, but it wasn't real fun. I'm so ready to hang with my girly LeShell. Australia, however was AMAZING and I'm so glad I'm not returning because I still have so much to experience. I have a morning wake up call at 4am, and we leave for the airport at 4:30am. My flight is at 6:25am and I meet LeShell at the airport at 9 something, just in case ...
