We then drove to Dubai in Jo's car with the top down and checked into a 5- star hotel that Jo had booked for us on 'The Palm' (a man-made island shaped like a huge palm tree). For dinner we decided to find a local hole in the wall and try it out. We found a barbershop (it wasn’t a barbershop, but the black and white checkers and large fancy chairs sure made it look so) with a restaurant above.
