... We arrived at Reagan alongside a load of veterans. In a typically over the top American style, the airport staff ordered that all passengers stop what they are doing to applaud their arrival. Which is great for those veterans that can afford to fly, but until the Americans open their eyes to the veterans on the street who really need their help - who have no medical assistance, no social welfare and no housing, I refuse to participate in such a false show of respect.

... We checked in, dropped off our stuff in the room and headed out to walk to the Gateway Arch. We got some great pictures, walked all around the park and checked out the museum below the arch. Afterwards we headed out for some dinner, swimming and bed for the kids.
