Herzberg...just down the hill from Lonau is where Bernd grew up. We stopped at a castle there too.

We arrived back in Ingeln to have a Kale event at a favorite restaurant of Gabi's - that included friends from Lonau. Great food and beer -- of course.

Originally we were going to go see the Bergen-Belsen POW & Concentration Camp. However, we found out the bus doesn't run on Sundays and all the car rental places are closed on Sunday. Therefore, we headed into town to see if anything is going on and to just hang out. Well, since it's Sunday and some countries still believe in a family/rest days, most everything was closed. There are almost 500 half-timbered houses, which make this town look like your traditional & cliche German town! Our first stop in toeing the town (besides the cute shop we found and bought scarves) was the Ducal Palace. The foundation walls are from 1292 and was the residence of the Guelphic dukes until 1705.
