He takes us to this cute restaurant for lunch it's an interesting experience as the menu is in French he translates the main component of the dish but the remainder is abit of a gamble I order the duck and the fruit pastry.       Left Nevers never to return ... Bought baguette & croissants on the way out then tried to get to a chateau. Mis-judged the distance to #1 by 100 km so went to #2 - Chateau de Cheveny. It is still owned by the family, but was opened to the public in 1922. Had lunch by the pond watching two white swans play. Then to Chambord, the King's hunting lodge commenced well prior to the French Revolution by Francis I, and finished 100 years later. ...

      ... and it went around so much faster. There was a constant steam of people buying their produce - and quite a few on bikes - even in line with their bikes. I returned to the hotel with raspberries and blackberries. These were perfect as I had only snacked on nuts for lunch. Ice cream would make them even better.
