... The good weather certainly helped, but there were people everywhere.

The next day we were also blessed with a warm day and we discovered that the place had a roman history with a number of ruins found and excavated. ... and I didn't want the snow melting on my carpet so I stupidly put them in the kitchen sink and then caught the tap with my elbow filling one wellie with water. It does take a long time to dry out a wet wellie.
