... were long & straight, but still felt like a session on the dodgems (that's the english name for a fairground ride with uncontrollable little electric cars that you are supposed not to bump into each other, but everybody does.)

Thedrive from Davos down to the Stelvio Pass was pretty good, and we stopped a few times to take it all in, and to let the engine cool down a bit, as it was working fairly hard.
We took a small road from Santa Maria, and that was really good, with some tight U bends, and magnificent views. This road took us across the Swiss/Italian border.
And then we joined the ...
St Moritz-Bad in Switzerland was amazing, hard to capture on picture/video but did our best! One of my favourite spots so far.
Travelled back to Czech via Germany and Austria. Oh and into Italy for a day at some stage. I then headed to Glasgow to catch up with friends and Jarrad stayed in Karlovy Vary to train for his powerman in Austria this weekend.
Anyway will let the pics do the talking!
Hope all is good with you all

I climbed a mountain in the Swiss Alps. I whitewater rafted on the Rhine river. It was all amazing. All I could keep saying was "I cant believe Im here. I cant believe Im doing this."
There was so much to do in the last 2 days, and Im physically exhausted. Maybe tonight I can finally sleep, because Ive been habving some trouble with that.
More later.
... road traffic, especially if they park in the wrong place !!! It then climbs quite steeply up through the gorge and then beside the roadway and above the torrent. As it nears the resort it passes over the oldest concrete bridge in Switzerland, if not Europe. Entering the small town and terminating beside the lake out of which flows the previously described river.
In summer there are a few restaurants and shops available but the town seems fairly ...
... Boxing Day Racing etc.. During late June it proved somewhat damp for us! It rained on us, but then it seems to rain in the early evening in the mountains!
The return route following the Engadine river as pleasant an experience as the rest of the day trip to Poschiavo.
Poschiavo, our destination for the day trip over the Albula Pass was a very nice, tidy town with a good choice of eating places and proximity to some wonderful scenery. A good alternative to the main Swiss resorts. It's also very handy to the Italian lakes Como, Maggiore and Lugano and the train trips of the Simplon entry to Switzerland.
On the day that we arrived ...
... valleys that I was heading for have only been open in the last century, not even the hardy Walsers pushed this far. As you can see from the map this is tough terrain. The last bus stop is in the small hamlet of Vrin. Vrin is a cute little town with just the basics to keep the herders happy over the summer months. The fresh air is full of the smell of fresh cut hay, spring flowers and cow poo. From Vrin the road continues ...
Vrin, Switzerland quill... surprise around every corner you turn. I found a small (really out of the way) cemetery, apparently Jewish. I went back to get Bev so she could see it, too. I got some great shots. (Shirley should be happy.)
The time to head back to Davos came all too soon. Once again, we traveled the back roads, this time by bus, and the scenery was just as awesome as it was on our train trip coming up this morning. We traveled up to the 6,000 ft. level, up and down and all around the ...
... felt rather fortunate (and comforted) to find it. The first thing that I noticed was that the altar is brought out into the congregation with the pews in the wings facing the altar. What a find! I can’t wait to get the pictures to show Father Spiess (hey, maybe we can write this off as a business trip, since we are doing research for the Heritage Campaign). This church was built in 1892 (pretty new by European standards) and renovated in 1978. On our way back down to ...
