I'm only in Kuala Lumpur over night before I fly out to Borneo to meet up with that harlot Rosa, so I wasn't sure if I would see much while I was here. I didn't get to the hostel until 6 (which is EXCELLENT, brand new, spotless and the guy who owns it is ridiculously nice), and after sitting on a plane for 25 hours, I was a wee bit ...
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia gary_cailin... Temple Cave, the natural walls of which stretch up over 100 meters. Intricate shrines to and statues of Murugan and other Hindu gods were nestled along the walls amongst stalactites (or are stalagmites the ones which grow up from the ground?). The air was still and calm, and the occasional waft of incense which crossed our noses added to the tranquil and reverential atmosphere. At the back of the Temple ...
Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan, Malaysia bruceandianIt has been a while since my last entry, and while in some ways i've done quite a lot, in other ways i haven't done much at all. After the Cameron Highlands i came to KL, and stayed with my parents who live here. Nice to get air conditioning, your own bathroom, large apartment, swimming pool etc! Anyway, i've been kind of using here as a base, and in the ...
Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan, Malaysia stevehopkins... wanting to go the Bazaar Baru Market, where local products and things were for sale. I got the address and hailed a taxi to take me there. He said he knew where it was, but somehow I don't think I believed him. It's so hard trusting people here, quite unlike Bali. I got in and he drove me a couple blocks (and charged wayyy too much for this little trip) and dropped me off at an art gallery and handicraft area. There were around 25 shop buildings all around in a circle, each with local ...
Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan, Malaysia snclark8... flying and get some of the delicious smelling food when we were told there was a problem with the water pressure. This ended up taking three hours to fix and we disembarked into the closed Adelaide international waiting area. The Adelaide International Airport is so tiny, that ours was the only plane there in that 3 - 4 hour period, and when we had boarded the first time, they closed the two shops there. Not a fun ...
Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan, Malaysia camille... Onneksi Kasperi parempikuuloisena nappasi jostain kuulutuksesta sanan "Kuulasmaa" ja niinpa tajusimme viimein rynnata portille, josta meidat hoputettiin sateisen kentan lapi koneeseen, jossa muut matkustajat jo istuivat paikoillaan. Ja taas havetti. Taytyy vain toivoa, ettei siella koneessa, joka joutui odottelemaan meidan takiamme ylimaaraisia minuutteja muun myohastymisen paalle, ollut liian paljon niita samoja tyyppeja, joiden ohi passijonossa torkeasti kiilasimme...
Sepang, Selangor, Malaysia amatsinrake... suurempi, mutta muuten oikein mukava. Aloimme jo suunnitella seuraavan matkan reitteja LCCT:n ja ko. hotellin kautta. Ja iltapalalle menimme tietysti suosikkipaikkaamme... Sunnuntai oli sitten varsinainen formulakisapaiva. Olimme etukateen suunnitelleen aamuksi uintiharkkoja Shah Alamin uintikeskuksessa, mutta halpahotellin 5 tahden sangyssa uni maistui niin, etta jouduimme jattamaan koko uintireissun valiin. Eipa silti, ettemmeko olisi sittemmin ...

Sepang, Malaysia guh-te... It is certainly not as easy as watching it on TV!! The thing is with watching it at the track the cars do not come round in the correct order - people go into the pits, people spin off and as there are two of each car, you are never sure who is driving the car!!!! But its fantastic fun!!!! In the area where I was sat I was the only English person, so imagine my delight as Jenson Button moved his way up the field! The American guy decided to follow him as ...
Sepang Curcuit, KL, Malaysia emmaw... the previous days. However on this day (when there was 100,000 people there) they did not and they even let in people openly carrying cool boxesand picnic hampers! There was also a rule saying no umbrellas which was crazy (and ignored) because of the sun. Sepang is billed as the hottest F1 race and it was 34 degrees in the shade and the sun was beating down. Luckily we had secured a spot in the shade but this moved during the afternoon and we also ended up in the ...
