Love this Boutique Hotel. We arrived around 6:30 pm - beautiful rooms, lovely supper, awoken to birds and a rooster.

    To the beach

We happily slept in this morning, knowing we had a fairly short drive to the small beach town of Brasilito, which is very close to our golfing venue for tomorrow and reputed to have a snorkeling beach. Plus, we need to visit some of Costa Rica's famous beaches to round out our experience. As we drove away from the Hotel Las Espuelas, we were …

We spent the day exploring the area in Brasilto, Playa Flamingo, Playa Potrero. I think you definitely need a vehicle to go out and exploring. We are also interested in either living here full time or part time. Our definitely favourite area is Playa Flamingo, it appeared this was the highest concentration of people/tourists in the area. We arrived 3 hours later than our original flight time. The airport is quite small, very nice, very friendly people. We exchanged some of our money at the money exchange booth, didn't do too good, but definitely didn't want to be without the local currency. We went through the doors to get our luggage, hoping we weren't going to get swarmed by …

... actually born in Invermere-is is a SMALL world!!! As expected and in true Costa-Rican fashion, our driver Gustavo arrived 10 mins late. At first glance, our decision to tour looked gloomy as not only were there only 3 other people on our tour but they were all girls! Poor Dane!! But they turned out to be a fun, easy going group of med students from NY and with Gustavo on Dane's side we had a pretty enjoyable day. We drove about 2 hours to Buena ...

... volunteers coming at the end of the month and my job will to be their guide and coordinator- taking them to their family's, showing them around and taking them to their volunteer projects. I'm also going to be screening host families and interviewing future interns. It's exciting and I already know that I won't want to leave.

    So far so good!
