... but is still easier than the track down from the main road to the apartment. Wendy makes a fabulous salad and we take ourselves and the food and beer down to the garden where we enjoy an excellent lunch. The afternoon then is spent lounging around enjoying the sun and the view. Dinner we eat in - Liz has made spaghetti which is great and the wine we bought in Bellagio sets it off beautifully. In the end a very pleasant end to a rather tough day for us ...

We drove to Bellagio and then took the ferry to Varrena with the intention of eating lunch then travelling on to Piona to see an abbey. Just opposite the parking station was the Villa Monastera which has a beautiful botanic garden. We decided to look around the garden. ... track to the car - about 250 metres but rough, a little up and down but nothing like the our track to the piazza on the main road. But it does have one very steep set of stairs going under a house that is always a trial. We drive to Bellagio because we can catch the car ferry across the lake and then drive down the lakeside to the village of Agrengo. We decide to park the car in a real car parking area near the church. It is only a short walk for the boys and the girls are ...

... is just on the other side of the point from Bellagio. We drove down into the village square and discovered that the only parking there is for residents. However just a bit back up the road we were able to get a park and walked down to explore the village. It is very pretty. Only small, but the little lane ways were narrow, cobbled and with lovely houses along the sides. It was originally a fishing village and there are many ...
