... going to walk along the Promenade for a bit. We crossed the road, and there were a few people sitting on the chairs on the boardwalk staring out at the Mediterranean Sea, even though all you can see is pitch blackness. It was weird. Maybe they're trying to reserve their seats for tomorrow? Anyway, Alex was too cold to hang around out there so we headed home. Now we are in bed. The other two are asleep already. We are hoping to take a train to Monaco in the morning for a look ...
... water and many luxury boats coming and going. We had a late lunch on board, then an afternoon sleep, evening missing out on Happy Hour in the bar.
At 5.30pm we sat on our verandah as we left port, sun on the water, road zigzagging up out of town, snow covered mountain peaks, and the ship's booming echoing against the hills.

... and found our way eventually to Cosne sur Loire where we had lunch in a little park next to a river. Then back on the bikes and into a hillier ride in to Beaullieu. All pooped at this stage. After a short rest all of the Australians plus Stefan from Belgium and Arie the guide were picked up for some kayaking on the Loire. Harder work than we expected! went up and up following the sign that said "panoramas" with an arrow
telling us which direction. Eventually we made it to the cascades - a
beautiful well flowing water fall. Of course simon did his thing with
waterfall photos. He loves it!
I just stood back and wrote this
while listening to the water falling. From here we were still not at the
top. We ascended further and finally reached the lookout.
... met a few hours earlier. I know we'll stay in touch and we're gonna try our hardest to meet up again in Scotland. Aside from wandering Nice from 2-6 am, I didn't do much. I went to Nice to take a vacation from my travels. I didn't want to see any historical landmark or walk for miles, so I did a little shopping and went to the beach.
