... was a great result. We are in Provence and stopped for a break at Sisteron. The cafe was beneath a Citadel that overlooked the valley and river. Didn't take any convincing to stop for the night as we were both pretty had it. Lack of sleep and we’ve gone from 10 degrees in the mountains to 25 degrees in the valley in 3 hours. We woke up today on the French Rivera in Mont Carlo. Located east of Nice, France on the northeast coast, Monte Carlo has long served as a major port for the area. In fact our cruise ship, the Nieuw Amsterdam is docked in the old "Port de Hercule." There are accounts of Julius Caesar landing his fleet in the harbor in 43 BC.
